Yes. Mine too. But I fear it is wanted that way so you are more interested in the higher tier things like electric light. It is even realistic and makes sense. The torches are very cheap, so you can use them in your house to do some stuff but if you want to not have to care about it then you have to go solar or wind power.
Or it is a bug :-)

When you look at the details, you can see that they are counting down in durability while they are lit. When you turn off the flame, the timer stops.

They appear to be working as intended with a limited life so you don't have cheap forever light.

Anyone figure this out? These are a pain in the ass to just keep recreating and replacing, I'm not even bothering making them any more. Am I dumb?

I'm sorry, did you even read all of the posts in the thread before you made this post?

That's absolute nonsense that the torch is destroyed after less than 1 minute. I can still understand if it burns for a few hours and then you have to rekindle it with oil etc., but it doesn't even last a minute.. how do you come up with such a stupid idea.. That doesn't happen with a real torch .. So wall torches are completely useless... and you don't have electricity to begin with, so there has to be a sensible alternative
Never really cared about the wall torches running short but my actual hand held torch refuses to stay lit and I can’t understand why
