The Front

The Front

Terrible FPS
Any one else suffering terrible performance on this game? I'm running a decent hardware setup and using a 3070 but I can't even run this on low settings without constant stuttering and frame tearing, it's worse when your around buildings too, much worse. Overall playing it kinda makes me feel a little dizzy and gives me eyestrain after 20 mins. I like the concept of the game though - but the concept doesn't make my eyes hurt etc so I guess I'm shelving it and waiting on a performance patch. Disappointing though.

3090 here and the game runs very well (hovers around 73 fps average) at 4K and all Ultra settings. Sure the fps dip here and there but maybe down to the mid 40's. No stuttering at all.

My buddy plays and he has a much older PC with a GTX 980 and plays at 1080p, High and medium settings and gets around 35-50 fps on average. No stuttering.

I think your PC should be doing better. A 3070 should have no issues with this game.

Thanks for the reply, Just out of interest are you playing on an Intel or a AMD rig and are you playing an online server or hosting and playing on the same machine?

I run a 11th gen i5, 32Gb Ram, RTX 3070.. installed on PciE 4.0 M.2.. Run at 2k Ultra.

I have no issues with this games performance. Sure, when you're flying and the game has to render in "Mega Bases" then it lags a bit, but other than that... Ive got no complaints.

First thing I would do it check your temps.. make sure the rig isn't throttling itself.. then check/verfiy files..

Also make sure your PC has more than the standard 16GB of ram lol

it happens to me too after i travel any real distance from where i logged in. its only a temporary fix but relogging in the server will usually relieve the problem for a bit

Thanks for the reply's. I'll do some testing later on - I only asked because I can play pretty much anything else in ultra settings and have no problems at all, yet this game runs like a bag of spanners for some reason. I'll test it on my Intel setup later on. Thanks anyways.

The game is badly optimized and some areas will cause stutters/major fps drops, for no apparent reason. I'm on a 4070 and still experience this. Wait until you get to one of the bunkers, you'll probably get sub 30 fps there.

does anyone knows if there is a way to enable vsync?

It's on by default, and can only be turned off through ini files

i run it with 3090 FE and with ryzen 7 2700 (amd) cpu and no lags and no problems atm with anything on Ultra. and i only have 16 gb ram...^^

the only thing i have is at the time i logging in, the first 15-30 seconds i have to stay still because heavy lags but i believe they load the chunks. after that absolutely no problems

The vsync was set "False" by default on my config. To change it goto C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\ProjectWar\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and edit GameUserSettings.ini Look for vsync and set it to "True" if you want it set vsync on. Keep in mind if you change any settings in game after you set it then it will probably overwrite your config with a default vsync="False" again.

It seems my problem with FPS and performance only happens when I host the game and play at the same time - I've had time to try a few servers now and while online my game is flawless at 85 fps so I guess they are not kidding with the front game page warning that hosting and playing is "under improvement". Anyways I thought it only fair to say the game runs fine when online and my problems were just with hosting and playing. Thanks to all who replied. :)

Were you hosting locally or using a dedicated server?

This is not acceptable. They have MASSIVE LOD optimization issues. No game should be doing this, it's not 2005. To add, AMD cards are disgustingly poor with this. It can drop to 20 flying over the snow mountain on both a 7600 and a 7900 xtx, which eats 3090's saying it's fine in here. 1440p is horrible. Imagine how bad it would be if I didn't help them fix their blur issue on release how many people would be forced into strange resolutions and forced downscale.

5900xm 32gb ram, RTX 4080. Depends where i look, i get between 45-120fps @3440x1440, settings do nothing... same fps. So it is very Cpu limited it seems. (Singleplayer)
