same for 4K, 8K screens...., scaling doesn't do it, the screen is blurry, it's 2023 even games older than 10 years old scale properly, The Front is apparently the only game in the world that doesn't know how to do it.

Also, "alot" is subjective.
And.. Alot of us are VR users =p

Trying to say "Factually" dosent make you correct.
Steam Hardware Survey

Primary Monitor Resolution. (Your VR set is not primary. Also note that VR is measured independently, and not counted towards display resolutions.)
2560 x 1080 = 0.92% of users
3440 x 1440 = 1.87% of users
5120 x 1440 = 0.23% of users

This is updated and refreshed monthly, so it is accurate as to what exists in the Stem ecosystem right now. It's not pulling data from last year, or even six months ago.

And honestly, look at the separation of aspect ratios...
1920 x 1080 - 16:9 - 61.17%
2560 x 1440 - 16:9 - 16.61%
1366 x 768 - 16:9 - 4.12%
3840 x 2160 - 16:9 - 3.29%
2560 x 1600 - 16:10 - 2.82%
2560 x 1080 - 21:9 - 0.92% of users
3440 x 1440 - 43:18 - 1.87% of users
5120 x 1440 - 32:9 - 0.23%

Even an odd resolution like 16:10 has a higher footprint than most 32:9 displays.

I mean, I want support for 7680 x 1440. Do I think I'm a majority? no. Do I expect developers to ben over to support it? no. Even though 0.66% of Steam users have this desktop resolution.

Ya but here is the killer...
They dont have to exactly to much work to make thier output support ALL of these weired reolutions / aspect ratios

It is literally as simple as changing an X for a Y in their config's

So the game scales to the other axis and it then fits on everyone's display.

Seems kinda lazy and outright scummy to not do it.

+1 alot of us have wide screens.

Actually not true. Ultrawide is just a very vocal tiny tiny tiny minority of users. Of all steam users, these are the numbers:

2560 x 1080 = 0.92% of users
3440 x 1440 = 1.87% of users
5120 x 1440 = 0.23% of users.

I get wanting support, there is nothing wrong with asking for it. But doing so under the guise of it being common is just misleading. You are the tiniest minority of users and need to stop acting like you are a substantial portion.
Cool. However, literally, EVERY other game...even the trash ones...I have played in the past 4 years has had Ultrawide support.

Yeah.. Looks like changing the scale mode doesn't work anymore.
