Lag LAg LAAAAAAAGGG.......

Sorry, I was lagging for a moment there.... Brain finally caught up to me.... This is happening in-game also. I know I have all the resources, and better specs than what is suggested, but there is 2 issues. 1) LAG, and 2) can not run in full screen unless it automatically changes my resolution to its ultimate max. If I want to change the resolution, I have no choice but to run in windowed mode. =( And either way, I lag real bad when playing with my son on private server!!

OK I just finished up doing everything that was shown in the video..... I will be back once I am done playing around in-game for a while to see if it fixed the issues I was having.

something is either wrong with your system or you are playing on a server you should not be. if you are American you need to be on a Na server with the lowest ping or the one that matches where you are like the eu or asia. now if this is not the issue and you are using the correct one the next step would be to start the game and look in task manager to see how much the game is using in resources and if there is anything else with high usage at the same time but i am assuming you know this already if you built your computer but still look at the memory usage you may have a ram stick not seated fully which is very easy to do as i have done it myself and i have been building my own pc's since the early 2000s

another option too is get GeForce Experience, it is a free program that will optimize games to exactly what your pc can handle 90% of the time

Well, I do NOT have NVidia GeForce video card, it is an ATI Radeon different company altogether. LOL (They are the only companies out there competing against each other!) LOL

AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT

It is more than enough to run any other game I own, and I have some intense games like this one. Got no clue what is going on with it.

If your laptop can't run Ark Survival Ascended, then it's weak. Price matters. Get a laptop with at least minimum 2000 dollars price tag

So your hardware is such that you should not be having an issue if it is correctly configured.

Now first exclude the client from security software. Especially if you "don't have any", because then you have Windows Defender. Be sure to use the folder exclusion to ensure all client files are not going to be scanned. Then validate the files a few times in Steam.

If you're still having an issue, post your video settings. A screenshot should be fine. The game defaults to Ultra, and that isn't something you should be using in a game still in development that hasn't been optimized yet. (Optimization occurs near the end of development, not at the beginning.) I found that mostly high preset works well with my overclocked 6800XT, but I made a few other changes. This stopped the occasional FPS freezing and stuttering almost completely. (Some may be due to data LAG from the server.)
