what are the single player options?

I bought this w/o realizing it was PvP multiplayer and I have yet to play it. With the rare exception of a MoBA here or CCG there, I'm not really into the whole PvP thing. I got isht to do and don't have the time or inclination to become good enough at a game to be able to compete with players who do have the time and lack of social life and/or responsibilities to become 10th degree Jedi blackbelts in the popular/newest OpenWorldSurvivalCrafts.
Is there a way to just play the game solo so I don't have to deal with ppl who have a million hours in Ark, 7D2D, Skum, etc along with the all too common gaggle of cowardly hackers and cheats, or should I just refund it? Thought it looked cool, was also a tad tipsy, and apparently I bought it. From what I've seen on the Tubes, the PvE NPCs look plenty challenging, don't really see why pvp has to be almost mandatory and shoehorned into so many games all the time. Sunkenland is a good example of a game that might be fun w/ a PVP mode if you're into that, but you also have the option to just take your time and pace yourself and figure it all out at your own speed w/o some annoying HS kid all cracked out on Addy griefing you for hours....

You can play it solo, 4th option in the startmenu. You make your own "local server".

Quit fun solo , there is the defend the beacon you can do solo, Can set up traps , gun turrets and all matter of defenses. The waves get progressively harder. Also the solo server settings are plentiful , increase/decrease just about any setting. So solo is very playable on a solo server you create.

Not a bad solo experience to waste some time in.

Awesome!! Thank you, so glad to hear that. I enjoy solo playing Valheim, Grounded, and the Lands both Small and Sunken, among others, but some games don't seem to have that option, or at least it's not mentioned, so it's hard to know sometimes.
