All Servers 500MS

Hey all, I just picked up this game today to play with a friend. He's a few hours away from me (about 12) , normally I have between 40 to 80ms when I'm connecting to servers he has created in other games. In this game however his server shows up as -1ms (green) then about 5 seconds later it turns to 500ms.

I checked the other servers listed (solo/hosted) and they are all 500ms also. I am in Canada and have fiber internet to the house (not just to the pole outside and copper running to the house). I download between 50 to 100mb a sec (depending on download source).

When I try to join his game it sits at the menu for about a minute then says "Server connection has expired!".

Has anyone run into this and have any fixes for it?

I see the same thing on a lot of servers. Sometimes it happens so they a bunch display 500ms, sometimes they display 9999ms. But a lot of servers are also ~20-100ms in my region.

All Servers showing permanent 500ms have probably wrong Network/Firewall configurations.
The Font uses ICMP for checking the ping. If ICMP is not allowed on firewall the request fails and the server list shows 500ms.
This does not mean 500ms is true, it's just a default value shown and the real game experience may be excelent. But it shows the server maintainer/owner is not doing a very good job.
