Your favourite Ace Combat game?

I've been loving ace combat ever since it was still called Air Combat (for PS1).

I've played all the ace combat games expect handheld ones.

My all time favourite is Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. A good runner up is Ace Combat 2. And in third place...think i would put this one. Well, ace combat 6 was awesome but this is more arcade and reminded me more of the good old ace combat games for playstation 1.

of all ace titles. AC04 has got to be the best one. after playing 4 for so long, trying to get all skins and weapons, and trying to play ac5 when it came out. it kinda felt like a totally different game. not only was everything sped up *airplane animations were faster than normal aka, going super sonic or hitting the airbake, as well as intake, wing and nozzle movements* but there was no sense of gravity, as in, there was no inertia. the thing i liked about ace 04 and to a latter extent, airforce delta strike, was the fact that each plane had its strengths and weaknesses. some were fast, some slow, and some turned differently at speed. as well as having different stall speeds.

Ever sense 5, namco has been using the same formula for the flight mechanics. It was game breaking for me, but it did make all the planes *barring the foxhound, tomcat and phantom* fly the same. i did like the progression tree, but they could have diversified a bit more with the weapon selection. There was also one other major difference. you could rtb at any time past the first 2 or 3 missions and re arm and get repaired *sept on expert* as well as change weapons. i loved having to lnd on a carrier, rearm, and then take back off to finish my mission. and not just one specific missions.

so i guess for me its: AC04, AC2/3 *tie*,AC:AH, Zero, AC5, ACP *the psp one*, AC6, air combat

hadnt played joint assault or legends yet, and im not going anywhere near advanced XD.


PS, is it me, or is AFD strike the only modernish arcade flight game that lets you hover with the harrier? as well as the X-35B *at the time* and the X-32. not to mention the Yak-141 and a few others. really wish konami would make another one.......played the heck out of this as well as AC4.

I like Ace combat Fires of Liberation the most,followed by this one. I dont know how some people say Assault horizon is no good!?....... I think its great in every aspect.If you dont like it dont buy it,plain and simple.

the QTE, the helicopter, the C-130 missions and scripted dog fights killed this game for me, it was a total disappointment.
I bought the game knowing it would be like this, but did not know it would have such a bad experience.
But I hope this purchase just count as one more reason for Namco Bandai bring another Ace Combat to Steam.

I think the Spookey mission was real fun as a matter of fact!.....Hey we all have diffrent opinions on what good is right? Overall I would rate it a 9 assault horizon. Very fun game.

For me its a Tie between Zero and 6. Those two games were the peak of the series.
