How to shoot down the ICBM?

Ok I really didn't want to ask but I keep failing at taking down the ICBM. I use the Su-35 (surprising) with 6AAM but my missiles never hit and I end up getting destroyed by the flames, if I try to separate from them the missiles get away. I've read everything I could find on it, I've watched a few videos but I really don't understand.

dfm -> keep the machine gun trigger held down, spam missiles -> try to avoid the flames(constantly adjust your plane away from them) -> repeat until it's destroyed

admittedly it's not very different from most info you'd find about it but since it's pretty much a luck based mission(especially on elite and presumably ace) that basic forumula is pretty much the best advice on how to do it

given you have 6aams though it may be advisable to fly somewhat aggressively since you'd end up dealing more damage to it

I've managed to shoot it down by... well to be fair I don't know, I just shot 6AAM twice and the missile was destroyed, despite the 6AAM visibly hitting the flames and exploding. Well, I guess that's done.

Thanks for the help. If anyone else is stuck there, just keep trying and don't give up, no matter how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this advice sounds.

Don't use SU35, their ball are too big and easily burn by ICBM flame.

Use Rafale or F14
-use only 6aam
-hold max speed
-always fly above ICBM

additional, fly with optimum setting (turn on roll) is great for roll a little bit and lock missile.
