I also remember from the classic that any weapon would do, but the board is easiest. I could be wrong, though. Classic version's been a long while.
Anyway, i knew i had to suffer through this special fight and the destruction derby. I had hoped that you remastered those parts to be less annoying, so that the rest of the game can shine more :)
I remember to spend a week or more back at these old days of my childhood, beating crap from all these bikers and trying to get this one tricky Cavefish b-hole.
But this is probably a trademark of Tim Schafer, when he designs a game. The biker fights & the stupid destruction derby in Full Throttle, the horrible, HORRIBLE Meat Circus sequence in Psychonauts ... all part of otherwise just phantastic and very enjoyable games. Its not a Tim Schafer game, when no one shakes his fist and shouts: "Why? Just why??" :)
If you're interested in seeing what it was like before, you can toggle the "Remastered Gameplay" option off in the Help & Settings menu.
There's no need to get besides him quickly. There is a distance where you can hit them with the board and where they can't/won't spray you with oil.
