2.) Uh. I mean I bought all the arrows of detonation from BG1 and SoD and just let corwyn go hog wild. Drink some potions of fire resistance, and give everyone potions of fire or wands of fire. and just go hog wild.
the CASTLE really isn't the problem. its the....thing Caelar wants your blood for, the portal to ....
basically you want to find fire resistance and free action and .... the easiest thing I found for that was getting the arrows of the void from boarsky bridge fort and giving them to corwyn, I'm pretty sure they can kill the final boss by reducing his strength to 0. not 100% sure on that, but PRETTY sure these are death arrows.
but for the siege, the poison matters and the fact of whether or not you surrendered the fort matters.
3.) a variety of items if you have them in your inventory get scattered thru the world in SoA.
most notably (or at least the ones I remember) the dart you get for finding the 3 artifacts for the halfling, the Dragon sword you get from the reverse Minsc and witch pair. (just kill him and take his sword works) the archer's eyes, a bunch of class specfic gears. belt for dual wielding, helmet of dulathorn
could grab a complete list, but its mainly side quests rewards about twenty items.
Voidsword +3
Voidhammer +3
Robe of Red Flames
Belt of the Skillful Blade
Archer's Eyes
Helmet of Dumathoin
Bard Hat
Biter +2
Tangled Strings
Buckler of the Fist +2
Dragon Blade +3
Pretty sure some shaman items move too. but that could just be EE adding them regardless if you have them.
furthermore, the pantaloons aren't very important.
first you gotta import them to BG2, then you gotta get the SOA ones which require you to hold an innocent woman for ransom, then you gotta get all the way till the end of Throne of Bhaal for the third ones.
to craft it into the useful item.
I mean go for it I guess. if you are playing a sicko evil build sure. its late enough that its not really relevant for gameplay in any sense.
I am something of a completionist, which is why I wanted the pantaloons for the BMU. I know I don't need it to win BG2. Just another accomplishment.
