If you kill the drow in BG1, he doesn't show up in SoD?

the one running the black pits, I killed him in BG1 because ...well I did.

got to SoD looking to pick up the goblin, and all thats there is a bunch of roosters fighting. no drow, no goblin, no crowd.

I'm assuming this is because I killed the drow in BG1. is there any way to pick up the goblin?

I kinda like the goblin, but without her, no matter. I guess I'll just grab the bard.

Actually, any NPC who gets killed (by you or otherwise) in BG1 is unavailable in SoD. Not just Baeloth, but Minsc, Edwin, Neera, etc.

And here is another fun fact about cross-over NPCs: Any NPC you picked up in BG1 will appear in SoD at the same level/experience as you left them in BG1, So, suppose you recruited Safana at lvl 1, decided to replace her after not too long, and dismissed her at that level. When you see her in SoD she will still be that level you left her at. But, if you had never recruited her at all in BG1, she will automatically level up when you recruit her in SoD.

The two parts of BG1 have a memory.

incorrect. if you recruit an NPC in BG1 and ditch them, when you recruit them in SoD they get up to 250,000 XP depending on the players XP. just like a first time recruit would.

I got safana in BG1 and got her again at the start of siege of dragonspear and she had 161,000 XP the cap of BG1. despite ditching her at level 5 or so, when I got coran.

and the issue is not Baeloth is dead, the issue is the Goblin is gone too, despite getting flyers for the fight.

But doesn't the goblin, M'Khin, depend on having some interaction with Baeloth? I am not sure. I read about it but really did not want either.

you recruit the goblin from the cage at Baeloth's pit fighting. was wondering if she's not there whether she spawns somewhere else. but apparently not.
