SPOILER Caelar Argent's paln makes no sense

Caelar Argent is already famous and she decide to create a crusade to save people from the Hell. Ok i get it, but why not ask help for the lords of woterdeep? No, too easy, she decide to go to dragonspear castle with the crusade and no help. So she decide that the best way is to destroy everything on her path. WHY? She arrives at the sword coast and instead of asking free passage to the castle she scares baldur's gate so that she have to fight the army and the hell! Good plan. At the end, before entering hell, she is happy because she can enter the portal with 15 warriors, why she needed the crusade in the first place? Last tought. Didn't we have another crusade created by the events of iwd?

why she needed the crusade in the first place?

The reason is made obvious just before entering Hell: Caelar Argent doesn't have enough celestial blood to open the gate so she had obtain some of the bhaalspawn's blood. The entire crusader was a trap designed to get the bhaalspawn character into position in the castle to open the gate.

Also, remember that the plan had always been to "rescue" just one man which explains why Caelar is happy with the size of her forces prior to the inevitable betrayl.
