That said, I'm not usually in favor of nerfs, but this particular fight needs them. Particularly on the higher difficulty levels, since the no-magic zone takes away a lot of player tools to deal with the encounter.
I never keep those potions around, never really used them so always sold them lol
I dunno if i'd nerf this guy though, he does run away after a few of his friends die so I assume the fight was designed with that particular scenario in mind which is why you get a nice reward if you do manage to kill him.
