you want to call out sexism in games.. fine.. but nobody cares since it's part of the fantasy worlds these games are set in..
I don't give a crap about any sexism.. mild or severe.. or racism or any form of discrimination or stereotyping in any video game.. when written well they can serve to greatly enrich a story or deepen a characters lore.. trigger emotional attachments from the player or hatred..
a good game plays those things well.. and that's something the Beamdog developers should think about if they want to make Baldurs Gate 3..
as for the sexism.. lack of sexual diversity.. from a game that is 17 years old.. so what..
you want to ad trans characters.. go ahead.. it doesn't bother me
just write them well and make them good characters we want to enjoy having around in the game..
not like that dumb toilet meme where one guy walks all the way over to another just to announce their sexuality to a total stranger that never wanted to know in the first place..
and Safana.. good god.. she was one of the most empowered female characters in the game.. she wore her sexuality with pride.. used it to seduce and manipulate men into getting what she wanted.. something that millions of women to this day still do.. women that are considered strong and confident..
women who embrace their sexuality are praised by the same idiots who slander video game characters for doing the exact same thing..
frankly it's hilarious that she was changed from a strong character into a dull one because of one writers foolishness and lack of professional skill
but what really pisses me off is that the writers saw fit to completely ignore all of the male sexism in the Baldurs gate game while calling out the mild sexism to women..
Shar-Teel the man hater is one example..
the female NPC in Baldurs gate who hates Ragefast and wishes all men were dead
or the entire female supremacist Drow race who consider men to be weaklings and have the entire male sex enslaved..
Well actually what irritates me about it is the fact that it's ignored when such mild sexist content is blown up as a big problem just because it's against women..
I don't have any problem with the sexism against men in Baldurs gate.. specially the Drow who are the worst for it..
I quite enjoy seeing a race as diverse and different as the Drow featured in RPG's like this.. it makes the game a lot more interesting even if they are misandric and racist as a species...
and Viconia who refers to my character as a slave constantly is one of my favorite characters
what I have a problem with is the same idiotic SJW cherry picking that SJW morons are notorious for..
they are hypocrites, they are stupid and they are a damn parasite on any creative industry they infect with thier deluded nonsense
if people like Amber Scott want to write more diverse characters I have no problem with that at all
but they need to keep their personal beliefs and deluded SJW agenda politics out of well defined and loved video game IP's like Baldurs Gate..
if they can not do that then the simple truth is that they are unfit to be in the profession of making video games.. or any entertainment in general

Note that he wasn't saying that he had a problem with sexism towards males in a game, but with the fact that Scott said the characters had to be changed because they were sexist to women. It is totally hypocritical what she did and that is one of the reasons people are angered.
I hate what was done and have to agree with this. Seriously... thinking that it is best for the company is one thing. If they're smart they'll can the PR disaster and hack writer that is her. BUT it's not our business. Our concern should be results only. The final product was bad. Tell them why, tell them they won't get your money, and punish the company for bad performance. That's the market at work. Going on a witch hunt to ruin someones life is pointless and only lets them fuel the "we're a victim" narrative they've been going with.
You would have a small joke there if you would have said "homophilia" and "transphilia".
this is why a boycott is useless, SJWs like this one will just full force foward buying multiply copys to help self justifie there own choices and purchaces in life. if most people have zero interest in this game catered to them they now need to buy extra copys to make it look like it isn't as bad, oh well, this guy can buy a extra 2 copys then, 1 for the OP and 1 for me, enjoy your 3 copys of SOD....
Same applies to boycotting it. It's our money, and we can do whatever we want with it. Even to express our distaste.
I didn't say I would invalidate his threat because he was either for SJW or against it. I did so because of his demand she is fired or he won't purchase it. Demanding she is fired or they won't get his 15 GBP. I would rather she remains, learns from her mistakes through constructive feedback and not thrown out on the street over something so petty. I said I consider him the type of fan any studio can do without and I explained my reasoning in post #33 of the "The reason i or anyone i know won't buy this expansion" thread.
You like many others are just doing what you are whining about BD doing when labelling/branding people you disagree with as SJW which is ironic to me given you apparent hatred of your perception of BD using such tactics. You also misunderstood why I said what I did and are trying to twist it to suit your own agenda. I am not an SJW anymore than I am a GGer, I am neither. I am just as annoyed when someone who is SJW uses such threats against developers as I am about the OP doing so here.
I don't care if he supports or dislikes SJW's, I do care about his ridiculous threats and demands. Buy it or don't buy it, I don't care but quit it with the stupid threats which by the way is another thing ironic given a lot of anti-SJW people consider such threats a SJW tactic yet people like the OP are more then happy to use such tactics all the time and don't seem to have a problem doing so despite the hate they proclaim to have about the otherside doing it.
Rebooting franchises is getting harder and harder what with the unrealistic standards and expectations set by people with rose-tinted, nostalgic cataracts.
The truth is most people would rather ♥♥♥♥♥ about a new product in a series rather than back or invest in the creation of new products more inline with the old ones. All that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does is put studios off trying in future which is not the best route to take. I don't mind giving constructive feedback (mix of negative and positive) on such new products but at least I actually try to keep it reasonable while at same time invest a lot of money backing the development of other old franchise reboots which are more inline with the original series instead of buying that new one.
I see nothing wrong with taking an old franchise and trying something new, even if it doesn't suit my tastes but instead of just whining about it all the time I put my money elsewhere in the development of ones more like the originals. There is room in this world for games I like and games I do not but someone else might. Some people here would rather old franchises remain dead rather than allowing there to be new versions they might not like, instead of doing something positive they linger on the negative. Just bashing the new one instead of investing in the development of an alternative.
I atleast put my money where my mouth is and help bring such franchises back like Pillars of Eternity, Divinity 1 + 2, Torment, Bards Tale, Satelite Reign, Deus Ex Machina, Battletech, Broken Sword, Shadowrun, Armikrog and many more. I mentioned elsewhere as an example I didn't feel the need to try and shut down the Syndicate remake for example or demand people are fired even though was not what I wanted to buy, someone is bound to like it even if I did not...instead I just didn't buy it and backed the development of Satelite Reign which is more inline with the original ones.
At least I am doing something positive instead of sitting on forums whining and making stupid threats about firing people and wanting studios shut down. People who do the latter part are part of the problem, they are not part of the solution.
