Khalid. How do you use him?
As a frontline fighter he's always getting hammered, I've relegated him to an archer to save my potions while Minsc and my Cleric/Ranger take the frontlines. He has the same AC as the two forementioned, but he's just not cutting it like a pure fighter should, I just finished Gnoll Stronghold so my party is all level 3. How do use him? Or do you just cut your losses and find someone better?

Me as a Cleric/Ranger (I actually rolled a 100 for this guy in like 10 minutes. I was gunning for 95ish. was like holy crap!) is proving to be great tank with Minsc as well. I havnt run into Coran yet so I may switch again, but for now Kivan is better than Khalid. I'm using him as an archer that can go double long swords when I need him. I sold a +1 Halbred that he could have used darnit.
@GoverningLaw - I know Ajantis is LawfulGood but if you're good aligned, you probably won't have a lot of trouble managing him. There is also the new monk character in Nashkell, Raasad I think is his name, also LawfulGood. Monks are fairly weak early on but have great bonuses as they level up.

Minsc is definetly one of the best fighters in the game, although he will eventually leave your party if you take too long in getting Dynaheir (at the Gnoll Stronghold, very bottom left of the map). If you don't want to keep Dynaheir, which I never do, find somewhere to ditch her, some abandoned house or something, and then leave before she has a chance to talk to you or she'll take Minsc with her.

There as a mod made for BG:TotSC called Darkside of the Sword Coast that added some great new recruitable characters, its a shame they didn't include that mod with BG:EE. There aren't a whole lot of great Good aligned frontliners to pick from.

You could always download EEKeeper, then you can pick whoever you want and just change their classes/alignments to whatever you want. I would play through the game normally at least once though.
Khalid is great with a long sword mid to late game. Don't doubt his powers.

Otherwise send him on a trip to 'Milan' Walter White styles.

You need not waste energy abandoning characters, you can simply get them killed and dump their bodies off. Their spouses/partners will cry for their death one time and move along with life quite well.

Khalid isn't even a half bad fighter if you play him right. Give him a long sword or even dual weapons, and levelled properly he can be a menace.

Hey, think about it as Khalid on vacation, fishing and being one with nature ! I am sure he is much happier this way - after all, he seems to hate fighting ;) He and Jaheira will unite again when she has finished working with you - and everyone is happy :butterfly:

If I remember Jaheira and Khalid reuniting at the start of BG2 correctly, no one was that happy...

I'm using him as my main tank at the mo, he's not awesome but I've found some really good Long-swords and plate-mail he has the best equipment in my party. His voice is annoying though so may switch him out.
Just leave them in the Friendly arms Inn... Kahlid is a joke... he's terrible at everything.

Use Branwen (in the circus near Nashkel, need the stone to flesh spell / scroll or 500 coins to buy the scroll from the halfling standing near her) she is a true neutral Cleric (Jaheria is a true neutral druid) so you wont have any issues with her in your group as an NPC and shes a pure cleric so she has good heals.

Use Dorn il-Khan as your tank (talk to him in the Friendly Arms inn to unlock his "random sidequest"... yeah hes "evil" but he doesnt say anything really, and falls into line quite well, a 2-hand half-orc killing machine.

or

Use Minsc as your Tank hes in Nashkel and as long as you dont insult him and offer to help him rescue his princess you have a decent 2-hand fighter and hes a "good" guy

I'm a Ranger longbow specialist, Imoen is good with the shortbow, and Jaheira the sling..
Kalid is the squirrle, and I run him around like one. The badies chase him and the ranged weapons x 3 do the rest.. So far, it works great. No melee or ranged hits taken in lots of fights, quests and randoms.. Take some magic hits rarely..

This is called kiting, btw.

Right. And I am a good natured player. And though Khalid isn`t a warrior, he is one of the nicest persons in the game! I would never do anything bad to him! :guardian:
You don't have too, there's lots of monsters that will take care of Khalid for you :P

Any chance you would reconcider seeing my tears ; :blue::blue::blue: ?
Give him a guantlet that gives str and hes a very good fighter, an undeserved fighter since he has allot of hp and good dex
Dex: 16 -- good defence
con: 17 -- ALLOT OF HP that many fighters lacks!

He has allot more potential then shar-teel etc. He is one of the best fighters, if you know what to do with him.

If you give him Gauntlets of Ogre Power, a Long Sword +2, a Throwing Axe +2 and a Large Shield +1 he'll be a good fighter but you'll need the gloves the most as they'll make him 18/00 STR.

Hehe.. I'll keep him alive. I think he's come to accept his role as bait.. He's become rather good at it..
I've always found Kaigan to be the strongest. Had him kill Drizzt and Sarevok in 1-on-1 melee after stacking a load of buffs and potions on him.
