What is the utility of normal rings?

you can sell them. a small few are quest items so be careful or sell them all to just one merchant so u can return to get the quest item sold by accident.

There are one normal ring that you need later on in a side quest (angel skin ring) so you might want to hold on that one, other than that there are few named rings that looks like normal but it's worth for you to try and find owner for them examble Joseph's Greenstone Ring that you find in Naskael mines, everything else should be sold for taking your inventory/gem purce space.
