Any way to change screen resolution?

Hi,
Bought this a while ago when it was on the last sale and am just now trying to play it.

Wondering if there is some way to change the games resolution, as it is now I'm trying to play it on my 1920x1080 resolution monitor but it's just a big blurry mess. Even the UI is blurry as all hell, and all the screen shots and videos that I watched of the game prior to buying it were not nearly as blurry as it is on my screen. The UI in the videos actually look pretty clean unlike what it appears on my own screen. It's almost like the game is running at an ultra low resolution on my high resolution monitor.

While I understand that it's like a 10 or so year old game and thus it won't look like it's a modern game, I was under the impression that they revamped at least the UI to make it look better on todays monitors so I figure there must be a way to change the resolution. I of course checked the graphics option inside of the game but the only option seems to be full screen or not full screen and some other option that is not resolution oriented.

Is there a way to change the resolution in this game?

The game automatically scales itself to your screen's resolution. The game itself shouldn't be blurry, but the GUI is set to scale up in a way that reduces the image quality for the sake of keeping everything evenly sized.

You can turn off the GUI scaling by opening up Baldur.ini (in Documents\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition) and locating the following line:

'Graphics', 'Scale UI', '1',

Change the 1 to a 0, save, and you're good to go.

Also, it could be your TV. I have a nice flatscreen from just 6 years ago (was around $1600) and some things are blurry, some things make the refresh rate of 14ms obvious, and some things just plain won't work via HDMI. Look up a manual online or reviews of people playing stuff with the TV to see if they have the same issue.

I don't use a T.V. I use a new monitor that was just bought less than 3 months ago and works great for all other games.

Anyway, afdter looking at the screen shots again on the store page it seems it's pretty similar to mine, could have sworn though that the videos and prelaunch screenshots that I remember seeing were very clean looking. Perhaps it was on in iPad or something like that.
