Level Cap in EE?
So, I have been reading the kit descriptions and such. They mention bonuses and effects for classes at Level 20...did they completely change that or what? In BG the level cap was like 7 or 8? Or this only with the little Black Pit add-on you get to see those level 20 effects?

I think so. I read that Paladin's get Cleric spells at level 9 instead of level 7, so it looks as if the cap has been incressed.
The XP cap for EE is the same as for the original TotSC, which is 161k. And the kit descriptions were always like that, as far as I remember. Makes sense, considering you can manually remove XP cap, or transfer your characters to BG2, or, indeed, play Black Pits, where XP cap is higher (not sure by how much).
Pretty sure that Cleric spells in 2nd capped at 7. I know in Icewind Dale they just gave Rangers and Paladins up to Level 6 Spells...when normally they only go fo 4.
161k exp is so low
Well, it is "low" cause it is the start of youe grand tale. Tales of the Sword Coast gave you 1 more level. Shadows of Amn at had the cap of like 2 Million, getting level I think 17-23(depending on class) and then Throne of Bhaal had the cap of 8 Million hitting 26-40.
Yup, From everything Ive read, removing the level cap in BG EE will just allow you to AT MOST gain maybe 1 or 2 extra levels, (assuming you dont grind random encounters or mess with any of the other settings). I also read that if you do mess with the settings and hit lvl 15+ (in BGEE) some of the abilities and such are missing because it was never really /intended/ for your level to reach that high. But honestly, I'm one of thoes players that perfers to progress. It kills my game if I reach max *insert game max variable here*. It feels like Ive Beaten the game and there is naught to look forward to :\ That might just be me though.
Even though you can reach the exp cap pretty quickly, there're still other things to do that let you progress, such as better equipment and powerful spells. It's not too bad after all, you only lose one way of improvement, but still have the others. And the game is easy enough even with the cap, so it's a sensible restriction.
I think the level cap is pretty good the way it is - it's already easy enough at cap as it is :P
I mean...it isn't like you are fighting Yaga-Shuru...or Demogorgon. The worst think in BG was the...damn Durlag's Boss from the expansion, I forgot what the yell he was, some Demon...he was BRUTAL at level 8. Least for a paladin haha

He was easy compared to the greater werewolf on the ship wreck. Killed that demon in 2 rounds the greater werewolf I do damage to him but he can regen something like 20 to 30 HP a round.
...And greater werewolf is but a puppy when compared to the demon of Ulgoth's Beard =P Hell, that was one of the most memorable fights of the whole saga for me. Beating Sarevok was a child's play after that.

I don't remember that wolf toss up bunch of wards and globes and being more or less immune to spells. I probably ganked that wolf real hard...but damn that Carbion(I think...Cambion or something) demon...god! Holy hell.

I gave up on there werewolves I tried everything against them then I read about a glitch that if I kept going out of the ship to rest and then re-enter his regen stacks due to a bug. So instead of normal regeneration he will be able to regen something like 50 HP a round. I was hitting him and getting him to Nearly Dead and then the next round he was uninjured.

The secret to the demon in Ulgoths Beard is to sneak a archer into the back of the room and kill the guards with bow and arrows but stay out of sight of the woman. If you have detonation arrows now is the time to use them when you attack the two guards on the front two corners these arrows will splash damage her but you must not kill her or you will bug the quest. It helps in the show down with the deamon.

Oh...that is cheating! Shame on you! =P But then you did fall into a glitch and a got screwed on the werewolf :/
I did manage to get some of my party up to level 9 before the final fight with Saverak. Not sure how as I never abused the repspawn bugs that can happen in the game.

Completed the game now. Kind of at a loss I may start another game in BG1 this time with a all evil party or carry on with BG2.
