Help, Cant get Yeslick
I finished the mines, but with my inventory overloaded, I couldnt swap party members during the mine.. So I accepted Yeslick, but didnt actually enter him into the party. Ia greed to let him follow, but dismissed him immediately. Ive been to Friendly Arm Inn, Joselyns, and back to Cloakwood mine, and hes in none of these places.

Does this mean he drowned?! In the Original, he was at the mines entrance when I went back.. Most of my companions were at the FAI when dismissed.. I am confused

Nvm.. It appears I drowned him...

This is a STUPID mechanic!

I'm pretty sure he's in an inn in Baldur's Gate if you DON'T accept his initial invite.

Thing about companions returning to FAI is actually not a thing, heh. Some mods do make them do that, also three of beamdog's companions do it as well.

If rejecting him, he wanders off to Jopalin's Tavern.

I accepted him, but when immediately dismissed him within the mine.. He was never actually part of my party, because it was full. But i did accept him. Hes not outside the mine, nor the buildings at the location, hes not at FAI, and hes not at Jopalins Tavern. Its been several in game days, as I also went down to Carnival to grab that Cleric as a result of losin yeslick.

As for original BG, Im not sure which allies moved to FAI, but I specifically recall thinking it was silly how many remained there during my game.. It is possibly that I manually dismissed them there though, I genuinely cannot recall.

I was able to recruit him at the mine using the following process.
Recruited him when I rescued him and added to the party. I left Branwen (IIRC) in his cell. Took him topside and dismissed him outside the entrance building. Went back down and snagged Branwen. Went back topside. and swapped them out again.

Extra work I know but no one gets lost this way.

In hindsight, i wish I had done this.. But I was so sure he would leave the mine, that i didnt bother.. I have only gotten this far twice before. I will be more mindful in the future. Im now 3 in game weeks beyond this point, and have no intention of replaying all of that, lol.

Yeslick is apparently not in BG2 (which I have never played before), so I feel less annoyed by the loss

afaik this actually *should NOT* work, bc the outdoor area of the mine changes after the flooding. havent tested it, so could be wrong.

Even if he were, it wouldn't matter, since no story companions transfer into BG2. They all get reset to game defaults, and that means, regardless of how you've skilled them or whether you've killed them, they reappear in BG2 - provided they are part of that game in any way.

I see.. I started it the other day out of curiosity, and Saw Imoen, Minsc, and Jaharra, who are all in my party, and assumed it carried the save.
