how to build Bronn (GOT) in BG EE ?
Hu guys,

Bronn is my favourite character in GOT.

I wonder how we could model him in BG EE in order to play both BG1 and then BG2.

He needs to be human.

Then I was thinking about a Fighter obviously, but he has some thief traits in my mind and unfortunately they cannot multi class. I am a noob in BG i am a bit reluctant to Dual Class. So not sure.
A blade could do but is he really looking like a bard ??? I have doubts :)

Favourite weapon should be between long sword and maybe dagger on top or maybe dual wielding ?

For armor i dont see him that heavy armored he never wear more than a chain mail.

For alignment i was thinking Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral.

Any suggestion ?

Bronn strikes me as a bog-standard fighter. Remember how well he duels? I am thinking more of a grand-master fighter than a part thief. True, he cheats and he does not wear heavy armor, but he doesn't really do any thief things. And he is the very epitome of Chaotic Neutral. He's in it for himself. The ultimate mercenary.

Come to think of it, who in the GoT universe is really Good? Maybe noble Ned Stark? You could argue Jon Snow is a CG Ranger type. But this is not Middle Earth. It is a morally dubious world. Let's face it, even our favorite characters are not really good. I mean Arya is a freakin' Assassin. Daenareys is LN, converting to LE, NE, or even CE in the end. Mellisandre is pure LE. I guess you could say Brienne is LG and Sam is maybe NG?

But here is the reason for my comment. If you are going to do this, make SURE you give him a great custom portrait! Do it right!

The build is the most difficult... i.e. class I think i agree with you though.

Ha-Ha. Good portrait! But a blade? Well, he does know all the words to the "Rains of Castamere!"

"And who are you, the proud lord said, that I should bow so low?"

If I was making Bronn...

Fighter 6 / Thief 9
Chaotic Neutral or Neutral Evil
15
17
16
14
12
14

Two-Weapon Style ***
Long Sword **
Dagger **

Longbow *
Shortbow *
Crossbow *
(Should be a better shot but proficiency points are limited...)

Move Silently 135
Hide in Shadows 140

Luck +10 (Probably the luckiest guy in GoT)

This is the best Bronn portrait I've found, tho it does need resizing.

So you start fighter and then dual to Thief after 6 lvl right ?
Hopper Aug 14, 2023 @ 1:36am
Yeah level 6 (32,000 xp)

I think Centurion might have a better idea with keeping Bronn as a pure fighter, but I always saw Bronn as a rogue, the type of guy that would creep in to an enemy camp and cut some throats.

Stupid question.

If I look for a dual berserker - thief for Bronn.

why is evryone starting at Berserker and not thief ?
Hopper Aug 17, 2023 @ 5:26pm
Because you can't dual class in to a kit, so thief to berserker is not possible.

Because a Berserker gets 1d10 HP per level and a thief only gets 1d6. Also, when you dual you stop gaining abilities in your old class. So, when a thief duals, they no longer gain any points in their thief skills.

Bronn is more of a swashbuckler in my opinion. Berserker doesn't fit him at all. Swashbucklers are very duel centric in most editions of DnD.

From a mere rpg point of view you should choose a pure fighter (unkitted) or a thief-->Fighter.
But you can also choose other combos giving some points to power more than RPG, but if you plan to play BG2, consider that a dualled character will be a thief 35, actually a thief more than a fighter.
For the same reason you couls choose to maximise stats instead of giving avarage values, but that's up to you.

Swashbucklers should be very elegant fighter...it fits for abilities, but it doesn't seem to suit from an rpg point fo view IMHO.
