I detected a trap and can't disarm it on chest. I want to pick it and take the trap damage...its just not an option??

Yeah so when i use my thief skills, only the trap icon comes up on cursor. I just wanna pick lock and eat the trap, cause I am failing to disarm it. I see this is not an option though eh? Unless you never detect trap

Try forcing the lock.
Click attack (or hit F1), then click on the chest.

Haha. Garrick is Drizzt bait, and Khalid is busy punching a bear while not wearing any armor. Yeah, you pretty much have to reload and not detect the trap.

The chest has a lock on it, so when I use someone useless it just says,
LOCKED
LOCKED
LOCKED

Have you considered moving on and then coming back as a higher level thief?

Or using a potion of master thievery (+40% lockpick?)

where exactly is that trap? if you can't disarm it, maybe s.o. can tell if it's worth all that effort. if it's in some random house, it's highly unlikely you find something good.

Cast Knock (2nd level Mage spell) on the locked object.

Just wait, if you leave the zone or wait some time, if don't remember bad, the detected traps dissapear.
