Chapter 6 advice?
I'm getting destroyed by Pratt and his boys. Any advice? I keep trying to split my party to attack from multiple angles and that isn't helping. And it seems like my old standby of fireballs for everyone isn't working either.

It's been a while since I played this game but this may help you

Thanks. I found a way to pass this area. I used haste on my party and then used horror to scare a few of the enemies. I entangled the rest with a stinking cloud (to do some minor damage). Mopped up the horred enemies. Went off screan healed and came back and fireballed everyone. Worked like a charm. Horror also helped me past the basiliks.

That was a good plan those basiliks are really hard I remember the way I used to kill them I think was with a staff of flames I would slowly creep toward the area I knew they were so they couldn't see me then use the fire. Otherwise if they saw me even once it was impossible to survive

Basiliks are actually quite easy if you have a mage that has the second level Protection from Petrification learned and memorized. I had Neera memorize 2 PfP and put them on my melee/tanks (my main, a Paladin, and Kahlid) and let them run ahead and engage the Basiliks. They will then usually concentrate on the first targets they engage and are not that much of a threat in close combat. Also, no creeping involved, just keep the rest of the party a few steps behind and turn AI on and off as needed.

Yes you're right your method is probably easier from what you described. I played this about two years ago before I recently bought it on steam but my last game I didn't have a mage in my group. This time I'm making my character a mage I want to use magic this time last time I was a fighter

Basilisks are basically free XP. As Schnittertm said, all you need is a Protection from Petrification spell/scroll. Cast it on your tank, send it in to kill the enemy.

Alternatively, use undead. If memory serves, undead can not be affected by the gaze attacks of the Basilisk, meaning that they're immune to petrification. Or at least, to that specific brand of petrification. Use a cleric with the level 3 summon skeleton spell, and let it do the work for you. Protection from Petrification is probably quicker though.

I was having trouble with the Basilisks too. Probably a pretty cheesy approach, but by this point I just wanted to get on with the game. I have Rasaad and Imoen in the party so I just had them hide in shadows and sneak past. Then I cast haste from my main character, saved the game, and then just kept running everyone else past until they weren't petrified. Then when they got to where Rasaad and Imoen were, just run everyone up to the dude, then on to the exit.
animate dead + haste
send in the skeletons
trigger fight
any combination of horror, slow, confusion, hold person
