Melicamp the chicken.

Okay so I happened upon Melicamp the chicken and did as he asked and took him back to his master in High Hedge. I was told to go out and get a skull to return him back to human form and by the sound of it any skull would do so I went out and found some skeletons and killed them, no skull. Then I went to a different area with zombies, ghouls, AND more skeletons and still couldn't find a skull. Is this quest bugged or am I doing something wrong?

The skeletons that spawn right outside High Hedge will drop skulls. If for some reason they no longer drop skulls like they're supposed to, I know for a fact you can find a skull on Neera's quest to Adoy's Enclave.

Sounds like a bug. Are you playing with any mods?

There have been a number of problems with enemies dropping quest related items in my playthrough of BGEE. Like on the island with wolfweres where the greater one is supposed to drop a baby, and it didn't.

Naw I'm not playing with any mods. I didn't even know there were skeletons around High Hedge, I'll try them. Thanks for the tip.

Yep! Just circle the tower for a bit and they'll show up eventually. If you wander around the High Hedge map you'll find some.
