Cloakwood Issues
I've read some posts about bugs with the Cloakwood areas but haven't read a post where someone had the same issues I'm having. After clearing the bandit camp Cloakwood forrest appeared on my map so I went to the first Cloakwood forrest and cleared it out, then the next, then the third, but after that the area with the mine did not show up on my map. I keep going back to the Cloakwood areas that have shown up and made certian I've done all the quests in them but when I go to walk to a new place the mine will not show up on the map, even when exiting the 3rd Cloakwood area and walking to where the mine should be. Is this something someone else has experienced? I'm frustrated thinking after all this time I will have to start over and worried that it will just happen again if I start over.

Only thing i can think is that you didnt loot the chest in the bandit command tent that gives you the information about the mines? Either that, try to travel through the right hand side of the map in the 4th cloakwood area, 4 woods then mines

I have completely cleared out the bandit camp and looted every chest and bag and barrel there, went back ttwice to double check and there is nothing left in the entire camp except some small weapons I didn't want and left there. And I've tried to walk through over and over, I've succesfully gotten through the first 3 cloakwood forest areas and still can't get the mine to show up. I've tried leaving each of the Cloakwood areas traveling in the direction where the mine should be but it just won't show up on the map. I've tried walking out of the 3rd Cloakwood area from every direction it will allow me to leave and the mine will just not show up no matter what I do.

If you have done 3 areas then there is one more area of Cloakwood east of the area you are in. East of that area is the mine area. So in total there are 5 areas in Cloakwood.

Reread the original post and subsequent posts. Whether or not you have the letters at the stage OP is at is entirely irrelevant.

Then I guess it's the fourth Cloakwood area I can't get to show up on the map that I would need to travel through to get to the mine. I can't travel there no matter what I do. Thinking I need to just start over but I hate to lose all my progress and I'm afraid that if I start over it's just going to happen again and I'll be at a standstill after hours of playing. Glad it was on sale and I only wasted $10 on this game instead of the normal $20. I'm super bummed, I loved this game when I was in my early 20's and was excited to play it again.

Yes, I got those letters and the first Cloakwood forrest appeared on the map. It was after traveling through the first, second, and third Cloakwood areas that the problem came up of the fourth Cloakwood area not showing up on the map no matter what I do.

Yea that is weird I've never experienced that issue before. You could always just enable the console to bring your party to that area.

You can find how to enable the console in BGEE through a google search I'm sure, but the codes you'll need if you want to move to the 4th area and the mine entrance are.

4th area

C:MoveToArea("AR1700")

5th area (mine entrance)

C:MoveToArea("AR1800")

Once the console is enabled in your game you just hit ctrl-space to bring it up to type in these codes (and hit enter once you've typed them in). Make sure you have your entire party selected when you do.

You need to clear out the big cave in the 3rd area. It's (the cave's) also a good place to catch up on your rest. Once you exit the cave head north and east across tthe small stream. When you reach the exit to the northeast you should see the 4th cloakwood forest shown as a destination.

Once there, you will need to completely traverse the area from west to east before taking the eastern exit. From there the mine will finally show as a destination. It will only be a 4 hour trip from this 4th area to the mine.

Keep in mind that when you first enter the cloakwood you are headed west, but the forest makes a huge loop, and you end up heading back to the east before you reach the mine. It's a truly huge forest.
