What are the most powerful weapons in BG:EE?
I know what the best weapons are in BG2, but it's been so long since I've played part 1 I can't remember a thing. I'm trying to figure out my proficiencies. I know longswords are a solid choice, but I'd like some specific examples of powerful weapons.

Thanks.

Whatever you do decide to take remember to always have at least one blunt weapon on each character for battles against certain jellies,slimes and golems.

if you have the stones, you can kill drizt for his scems. you can get a +1 of just about everything... the spider slaying sword stands out in my mind though. +2 and freedom of movement.

The Stupefier +1, a mace you can pick up in Beregost, is certainly one of the most powerful. It has a 25% chance of causing stun on hit with no save allowed. Otherwise the +2 long sword (varscona), Ashideena (+2 warhammer), and the Dagger of Venom are going to be up there as well. Plus as acornco mentioned there are Drizzt's scimitars and Spiders Bane (two handed sword that grants protection against spells like hold, web, grease, entangle, and slow).

Are Drizzt's scimitars pretty much the only +3s in the game?

I think ther is a +3 berserker two-hander.....maybe.

There is also a quarterstaff +3, a staff of striking, and a regular two handed sword +3 (that isn't the berserker sword).

Club +1, +3 vs Unnatural Creatures

This exists as an item file, meaning you can use the console to create it, but it doesn't actually appear anywhere in the game.

The most powerful club that is actually found in the game is found in Cloakwood and its a +2 club (there is also a club found in the city of baldur's gate that can become a +2 club but only at nighttime). The only other enchanted club in the game is a +1 club found on Krum in the area east of the gnoll fortress.

If you plan on getting BG2:EE, don't let the above lists deter you from your choices! There are plenty of each item type in BG2 that are pretty good.

I'm playing a single class mage this time around so weapon specs don't matter to me too much, haha.

My favorite character was a Paladin with 2-handed sword spec and getting The Holy Avenger in BG2. Talk about powerful.... haha.

I like how the good stuff in other games has fancy names like "Deathedge", "Apocalypse" or "Bloodseeker", while BG1 gives you the "Longsword +2". And you are gonna like it.

Varscona = Longsword +2, +1 Cold damage
Ashideena = Warhammer +2, +1 Electrical damage
Spiders Bane = Two-handed sword +2, Free Action while equipped

Most weapons that are +2 and above will be named...

I think BG:EE added some weapons. I recently found a +2 Club (I forget the name, I think The Mighty Club?) that I gave to Jahiera since she was already at 2 ** for Club specialization.
