Can't get to Cloakwood.

Hi people,

This is my problem. I cant get to Cloakwood and Cloakwood won't appear. I cleared bandit camp and took two letters, I had loads of letters so I copied all and dropped them to the ground. Many had problems with cloakwood if they dont have those letters, I go back to get the letters I get only one from the ground.

I have quest in journal where it says its crucial for me get to Cloakwood if I want to go forward and find out the threats and blaa blaa blaa, which means I have the quest I have read the letters. But still, no Cloakwood.

Is here any chance? Like use consolecheat and recreate letters somehow or what? If I have to start over I just stop playing the game, the hours I have used to this aint worth it to start over.

PS. Dont waste any letters it seems, or put them really safe place like chest in friendly arm inn or something

EDIT: Solution for me was to recreate letter via cheat console. How to do that is in comments, links can be outdated.

in the house in the bandit camp where you fight "the big fight", there s a guy who is not hostile, hes in the back and doesn t attack

i think he s supposed to unlock cloackwood, if you didn t pay attention, maybe you blasted him with a fireball or something, if he s dead, he can t talk to you...

not sure but if i recall right it unlocks that way

I did talk to him, it's not the issue. Seems like I need to download Shadowkeeper and mod the letters back to my inventory or something.

Have you tried going to the Friendly Arm Inn and exit on the left side of the screen to make it unlock? Or does it not even appear on the world map?

Yeah I tried that, then I tried from the first place after Candlekeep to go North. But I activated CLUAconsole on the game, recreated the letters with commands and poof, I got the cutscene and Cloakwook did appear.

If anyone else needs the CLUAconsole here is how.

1. In "my documents" or "documents" you will find Baldurs gate folder and there is baldur.ini file, in there put 'Cheats', '1' , I did put it after graphics section, make sure that you create empty space between commands with tab not space.

2. Run game and open console with ctrl + space. Here is site with commands EDIT 1.4.2015: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/75251-baldurs-gate/faqs/2458 here is codes for console.

Just as a footnote to enabling the console, I had to drag the .ini file out of the folder in order to get it to save the changes. Didnt need to do that with the original, but I have heard others have had to do the same thing with EE.

Well that's weird, I didn't have to do that with EE it saved just fine with ctrl+s, but thats good to know.

How do you edit an ini file correctly?

Right-Click ini file and choose edit, it will open in note pad.

To make more sense with ini file choose third option from notepad (I highlighted mine from the pic) and from there choose automatic phrasing or spacing? Not sure what is it in english. That makes ini files content to easier read.
Second highlight shows the spot where i chose to add my command line, and its after graphics part. So this is the line you only need to add -> 'Cheats', '1' ,

OH, and I added new link to my 4th post which should have working item codes.

It's a bug. I've had it happen to me. Hope you have a save from before the big fight. Otherwise, you're not going anywhere.

As said in this thread, you can activate cheats and create that item which activates the storyline again.

I thought I had this problem as after the 'big fight' and the cutscene the Cloakwood area appeared, but was grayed out and I couldn't select it.

I tried going West from the Friendly Arm Inn and it worked though

I can find find Baldurs gate folder and there isn't that baldur.ini file for me did I miss something I From Finland so any advise is wellcome please help ??? I can find only this files there folder bsave, save and 2 text file Baldur and Jingle
