Drizzt or whatever his name is...
Is it still possible to do Dudley's Drizzt trick to get all his swag stuff? Also, how much reputation do you lose if you do? I've already done some quests that give you rep. I think I'm at lvl 16 rep. right now. I don't really care about the scimitars, even though they are high bonuses, but the armor looks appealing. Also, I'm not sure of Dudley's glitch to do this...I don't understand why you need a thief with invisibilty. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I mean, is it really worth it though? You can't take any of the stuff to BG2 and if you could, there's better stuff there anyway. Seems like way too much of a hastle when considering everything. Just my opinion.

There are several cheese-tastic ways to kill Drizzt, it's up to you whether or not you want to utilize them. His scimitars are easily best-in-game.

The penalty for killing him is the same as the penalty for killing any other innocent. It's not a flat 10 points. The amount you lose is based on where you are currently. If you're currently at 16, killing an innocent is a -7 penalty which would take you to 9.

There are LOTS of ways to increase your rep, not the least of which is buying it up at temples, which you can do infinitely as long as you have money. In terms of pure questing, there's something like +40 reputation worth of quests out there to complete, so even if you bottom out you can still get it all the way up later on.

Easiest way to kill him:

Put 4 of your characters around him. Dismiss them from the group. Attack Drizzt with long swords/missile weapons. He won't be able to hit you, nor will he be able to escape if you've positioned your characters right.

Wack him to death.

Voila.

Yeah, that's as long as you don't have people in your party that take off to wait at a location for you, if you dismiss them. IE. Wild Mage, Dorn...

There are more than 20 books about adventures of Drizzt and his companions.

R.A. Salvatore, who wrote the book on Drizzt. Literally. Invented the badass scimitar-dual-wielding ranger badass who has a badass companion (won't spoil it) and yea... I could never bring myself to kill Drizzt (RP) and I don't really care to exploit. But I do like scimitars. So um. Yay drizzt!

I thought Drizzt was a gay until...

Drizzt made too many stupid decisions, but he is still a hero. I liked Artemis Entreri much more than Drizzt; Artemis Entreri was superior compared to him (both skill and item wise until their last clash where Artemis suffered from his old age), but Drizzt still manages to win . Damn, R.A. Salvatore.

Awesome! Thanks for the insights. I'd like to know more about the drow race itself. Obviously racially profiled...but seem to be badass at the same time...with dark secrets. Any recommendations on reads, or should I just hit up Amazon? BTW: I was always under the impression that the drow race was more of a evil race...maybe neutral. I dunno where I came up with that...maybe those long ago old table top games...who knows now. :)

Drow have always been considered a generally Evil race with some Neutrals and extremely rare Goods. The Good ones are almost always some type of hero or special/important character to fit a specific story or lore. So overall, yeah they are pretty Evil... but only to non-Drows. Amongst themselves they have an "honor among theives" type attitude and their alliances tend to be based on a hierarchy of strength and abilities. They live together well enough but have a pretty tough upbringing where they abuse their children to harden/strengthen them and teach them Drow are the most superior race. Basically, any Good Drow (and most Neutral) would be cast away/exhiled for being weak, showing favor to non-Drows and most likely not worshipping their god.

Some fun facts. I'm sure you can find more if you google around. A lot of the Drizzt (and Forgotten Realms) books are fun to read.

First three books of Drizzt's Legacy gives a lot information about Drows but there better canditates. Google Forgotten Realms Novels.

I use those scitmars for Rasaad. The mail isn't the strongest armour in-game, but it's incredibly light.

Drizzt dropped fairly easily to my lead character, who happened to be equipped with 25 or so detonating arrows. It took nearly 20 of them to kill him, but down he went. I figure the 2 scimitars and his armor will cover most of the cost of the arrows. My rep went down to 6 (disliked) but a thousand gold at the temple should raise it to normal.

It can be done rather easily, if you don't mind burning 10,000 GP worth of exploding arrows. I don't know why he didn't try to close to hand to hand. He had me trapped in some sort of area effect vine patch. I couldn't move.

If you use Ctrl+Y you get the loot and no rep penalty. Of course you don't get any respect but hey, what're you gonna do?

I wanted to demonstrate that Drizzt is by no means invulnerable. My player put the rest of the party at a safe distance, and did the dirty deed single handed. If I'd known how easy it was I'd have had my main character develop skill with scimitars.

Drizzt can be killed a number of different ways; however, I personally do not see the point unless you are playing an evil party. If you are just going to console kill him or kill him then immediately donate back to positive reputation, why not just use the console (or EEkeeper) to add the scimitars directly to your character and leave him alone? I understand that killing/donating keeps everything "ingame" ("no cheating") but um... lol it is still kind of like cheating if you murder somebody and donate to charities until everyone "forgets."

Enough of my rant... you should kill him once just for the fun/experience but if all you care about is his phat lewtz without wanting a rep penalty then you should just EEkeeper them.... or the best IMO is to save before killing him, kill him, then export/import transfer his stuff back to your character save where he is still alive. You get the experience/respect of the battle and "earned" his stuff without any consequence. :AOEKnight:

Or, ya know, just leave him alone because c'mon it's Drizzt ;[
