Any tips to make Tiax more useful for removing traps and picking locks?
So I got Tiax too late and got his 5/6 crappy version. Apart from leveling him up more and using draw apon holy might, any other suggestions to make him able to pick locks and remove traps? I plan to go through durlag's after my party is leveled up some more, so I need a high lockpicking and detect traps. I really don't want to carry around a bunch of thievery potions just to remove traps and to lockpick.

You could give him the dexterity gauntlets. But that, potions, levelling up further, and draw upon holy might are really your only options with him here.

Using the dex gauntlets and holy might, I get 70 lockpicking and 60 find traps. Level his thief up 2 levels and it will be 95 and 85. Do I need 100 lockpicking and finding traps to get through durlag's tower?

You find plenty of potions of master thievery in the tower itself, they should be more than enough for him to get through it. Instead of investing in find traps, you could just have him cast the cleric find traps spell, and put your points into open locks

Yes, but the highest trap you come across (which is in the tower), needs only about 70-80 in find traps to disable if i recall correctly, which could be reached the way they already stated, it doesnt have to be maxed, was all i was meant.

If all I need is 70 for find traps, then I could probably make it work better. 80 is very workable as well if that's all I need to disarm the traps. Last time I went through Durlag's tower, I had Imoen with 100 lockpicking and find traps. I could always purposely run at the traps with my tanky main character if I got my consitution to 20 so I get the regenerate health on rest. However, I really want to avoid rest spamming. To me resting only makes sense if I cleared out the entire floor and I close the doors in the room I'm resting in. Going off the logic of barricading my party in to get some rest.
