Joia's Flamedance Ring
Quest start: A small home Friendly Arm Gates

I was asked by a very short tempered woman by the name of Joia, to retrieve a ring from some Hobgoblins north of the Inn. I had no problem with this as me and my friends were up for a good hobgoblin bashing anyways. (OOC: Have done it many times in the past) So we set off and wiped all of the local Hobgoblins in the area, however, we only found two rings. One was silver, the other Greenstone. Is it possible the Hobgoblins were tipped off by someone and sold the darn thing to rid themselves of the stolen property? Joia wants to hear nothing of it since I didn't recover the ring. She is quite rude and abrupt when I return without the prize.

This is truly testing my Neutral Good patience, making me want to send some Magic Missles her way for her disrespectful nature.

My friends and I went back to the blood soaked grounds and could not find this forsaken ring. We spread out and searched the whole vicinity to no avail. I'm thinking its time to blow this locale and move on down to Nashkel and find out what's corrupting our iron.

(OOC: Anyone have this problem?)

Never had this problem - really weird !

The hobgoblins are now a bit more spread out than they were in the original. There is a pack of 3 of them around x= 2372 y=256 (you can get your cursors location by hitting x). One of them should be carrying it.

There are a total of five Hobbo's which were dispatched with ease. None carried the ring.

Gaz...not worth the cheat just for a story bump. Thanks for the heads up tho. Makes the story I am running have a little different spice added to it is all.

follow the path that goes to the left of the city gates and you should encounter a couple groups of hobgoblins they wont have the ring. the group of hobgoblins almost directly north of the fai should have it. just follow the path and eventually the one that has it should show up.

My sorceror does not have time for such frivolous tasks. Putting my life at risk and killing sentient beings just so a random woman I just met can have her precious ring back with no promise of reward is a no. Lives have value, even thieving hobgoblins. My morals will go out the window for a bag of gold coins, but if you aren't paying then do it yourself. I have more important things to do, like solve the iron crisis.

Yes - same problem. The hobgoblins are long dead, and I have searched the map thoroughly, but can find nothing on the ground. I have two (generic I guess) flamedance rings in my inventory, but Joia continues to be rude, and the quest does not complete. Annoying.

This kind of thing happened to me once with a similar quest, Purdue's short sword, as I didn't recognise the said sword was a unique item and never picked it up. Was this the first time in the area? said goblins may have been killed in a previous visit and the ring will no longer spawn. Other than that, I have not had this problem in repeat play through as I am aware of this potential quest trap - but that won't help you now. On the plus side, the reward is very minor.

The quest item isn't a generic ring.

It's easy to miss a pile of loot, especially in the trees. Hold the Tab key to make sure you did not overlook one pile. Also, be careful to read each item description and not just sell unique items that are identical to generic ones. I will admit I am rusty and actually had to pay extra to buy back Purdue's sword.

At least you picked it up, I just went meh just a short sword
Elves' Bane aka Girdle of Piercing --> the belt Unshey at Friendly Arm Inn wants. Much more easier to miss.

nah mate, belts are rare, swords and rings are common, you would defo pick up the belt if you saw it.
You would pick it up as to examine it, but because it isn't marked as a quest item, the likelihood of selling it is much higher than a unique ring with a unique item name.
