Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Leave them dead?
I'm just starting out and really enjoying the game so far, but I'm curious if I should load if a companion dies this early in the game?

well, you know, you can go to any temple and have him resurrected for 100 gold(for a lvl1)
theres a temple in friendly arms map , one right to beregost and one in nashkel

How often do you come across companions? I'm playing a skald and I want my party to be mostly melee dps if that is possible. Not a big fan of magic

this link is somewhat better, if you click on the names in the list of 42(which includes BG2 companions), you ll get info on them incuding where to find them

Thanks, do you think playing a melee party and me as a bard would be successful?
anything can be successfull in BG, providing you have a plan and think a bit

it s going to be hard though...

what do you think will happen to your party when you meet ennemies that throw paralyze, fear confusion spells at you?
ummmh

you need ranged weapons to interrupt ennemy spells

in BG2 you NEED spell casters, in BG1, you NEED someone to interrupt spell casters(though a simple fear spell often makes the diffrence between crushing defeat and a walk in the park)

i would recommand you to have one character that casts spells
You meet a lot of potential companions in the game, so if somebody dies, they can be easily replaced.

It all depends on who you want in your party.

Pallys are the way to go for messing up fear spells very easy cleric's are also nice but less tankly
Good good, thanks for all the info
like someone said before it depends on what sort of group you want. some party members will leave if your reputation gets too high if thye are 'evil' or if they are good they will leave if you loose too much reputation

Also, some companions don't like each other very much,
and will eventually get into a fight if they are both in your party.

Yeah < Ummm be sure they dont get turned to stone and then smashed to bits... \

They will be gone... Forever.

Turnin down the difficulty turns off permadeath tho.
If any companions are "chunked" they are also permanently dead.
