How to beat the greater wolfwere solo as a mage (CORE RULES)
Struggling to kill this guy? I was too. His health regen is literally hilariously OP (who designed this ♥♥♥♥?), and is immune to seemingly everything except magic. Oh, except that he takes half damage from elemental magic (pure magic and poison gets through fine though). Except, when I shoot him with 5 magic missiles by the time I can cast again he's at full health.

What you need:
ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY: WAND OF PARALYSIS OR AN EQUIVALENT
1x Cloudkill
2x Melf's Acid Arrow
1x Greater Malison
4x Magic Missile
3x Skull Trap
1x Invisibility (for when he saves and you inevitably need to rest safely)

What will help but may not be needed: Minor Sequencer with 2x magic missile (I had this prepared but got lucky and didn't need to use it)
Oil of speed, or haste, or the paws of the cheetah.

Tutorial: First, lure him from the ship and into the open. You're going to want to make sure you've got a clear spot to murder him in, you REALLY don't want anyone sneaking up and picking a fight with you.

Second, hit him with a greater malison to reduce his saves by 4.

Third, spam wand of paralysis on him until it works. Once this happens, you need to be ready to act fast. Quickly start setting up your skull traps, put all 3 on the exact same spot, in a position where they will detonate once he is released from the paralysis and he starts running towards you. They should be somewhere between you and him, but far enough away that they won't detonate until he runs towards you. Now, put down your cloudkill so that it is covering him (while still paralyzed) and also covers the skull traps. Then, fire both melf's acid arrows into him. At this point, he should be inside of a cloudkill, paralyzed, while being hurt by 2x acid arrows at once. Start spamming magic missiles into him. This is to make his health as low as possible so that once he runs into the skull traps, hopefully he dies instantly. Once he is released and starts running to you, release your minor sequencer of 2x magic missile. Assuming max level mage (I assume you wouldn't come to this island solo without being capped) he will be assailed by 9d6 x3 (save for half for each) + 10d4 + 10 (no save) pure magic damage, while already being at least slightly injured by your melf/cloudkill/acid arrow spam.

In my case he took 18, 12, 28 damage from my skull traps and instantly died (no need for minor sequencer in my case). If he does live, your only chance is to immediately cast the magic missile sequencer and hope it kills him.

Or, just cheese the fight by buying a bunch of scrolls of skull trap beforehand and kill him even easier.

This is the only way I could possibly conceive of killing him (AND IT WORKED!), but if you guys have any other ideas how to kill him solo let me know.

I liked the fight, was fitting for the optional DLC story. The isolated remote island would destroy anything but the very strong team.

This said the fight is not that hard. Equip silver weapons and spam staff of heaven at him, he will go down. There is one silver weapon in the drawer in his room I believe, you need to pick the lock and get it before starting the fight. Kagain is a good tank because he will have tons of HP to soak the damage. You may have to run around a bit with characters being chased by the were, but that's just hilarious. Also naturally full appropriate offensive buffs to everyone, everything giving +dmg and +to hit. Defensive buffs too can help a little.

Did you try Polymorph? It's usually my go to cop-out for most hard fights, Pop pots to highten your INT score then cast Greater Malison then Polymorph a mother into a Squirrel and pop.

Wait... what? Killing someone whose polymorphed doesn't just cause them to revert back to their normal form? Wow, that literally would have made this exponentially easier. Jesus christ.

just stack 15 skull traps (rest in between) and lure him out into them.

if you still get robbed off by MR, try again with even more.

So you need.... WABBAJACK! Didn't see that coming, didya?

hes immune to a lot of weapons. Magic should have made it easier, if you don't get rushed and squished before you can fry him one way or another.

Hi. Did it with 2 spell casters each with a wand of paralysis, Kondar/flametounge.
