I cannot beat the Werewolf Island.
This is impossible.

I cannot harm the greater werewolf enough to keep him from regenerating everything and my weapons WILL NOT hit him, my spells cannot damage him fast enough and any wand or gear will not harm him. This is IMPOSSIBLE.

This can be a tough fight with wrong equipment and or set up.its been so long since i did this not sure i will be much help.

possible helps,

1 turn difficulty right down

2 I think there may be a weapon in the room where he is, in a locked and traqpped chest that can hurt him. There is also another weapon on the island some where that can hurt him to.

Hopefully some one with a bit more knowledge may be along shortly.

There's a wand of lightning in a container on one of the lower floors. Make yourself immune to lightning, then drag him to the front cabin. Once you are both flat against the wall, just zap him and the ricochet will kill him.

If you can't make yourself immune to lightning, then minor globe of invuln should work. Cleric spell prot from lightning + boots of grounding, or potion of absorbtion are usual ways of doing this.

Hey, you'd best use weapons forged to hurt such a creature. Look in your inventory and around you for anything with a bonus against shapeshifters, lycanthropes or regenerating creatures.

In the cabin of the shipwreck is a golden sword with a +4 bonus against lycanthropes. Enjoy it!

Ha, yea, that creature is a pain in the ass. On my playthrough, it was even worse because I had hit on a bug that had drastically increased his regen to ludicrous levels.

In the end, I killed him with a pile of about. . .I think 10 skull traps. Killed the boss, barely harmed Minsc (who I used to lure the boss into the pile.)

Silver Dagger or Balduran's Sword

I think you need a +3 weapon to hit the greater werewolf at all. There are a few available in Baldur's Gate, but not many. There's a +3 short sword of backstabbing in the sewers. A +3 staff is on sale in the town you leave from. I don't think there are enough to equip an entire 6 man party, though. So it's going to be a very tough fight.

I realized this last time I played it. None of the +2 weapons were having any effect. You'd think +4 arrows of piercing would hurt it, but for some reason they don't. Fortunately I saved just before debarking, so I just said, "To Hell with it." and reloaded to the earlier save.

I do believe Balduran's Butter Knife will do the trick.

He's actually a greater wolfwere (there is a lore difference between that and a werewolf but more importantly werewolfs lack the substancial 5hp/second health regeneration that the greater wolfwere gets).

You need silver weapons to hit one. Kondar (a b.astard sword that gets +3 Thac0 and +3 damage against Lyncanthropes) counts as one. You can actually find two of these in the game (one is in Cloakwood forest and the other is in Ulgoth's Beard).

Otherwise if you follow Dorn's quest to its completion you can get Albruin, which also counts as a silver weapon. Finally as Simply Crow mentioned there is the silver dagger and balduran's sword (which are both available on the ship you find Karoug on).

A +3 quarterstaff or the +3 short sword for instance won't work against Karoug/the Greater Wolfwere.
