All items you Buy Are Gone.
All items you Sell are there to Stay.
By the way, is there any use of jewellery beside selling for gold?There is this Laerial's Tear Necklace I've got that amounts to 3000 selling price and I wonder if its related to some quests or if it can be used to craft some magic items with the right person
once you bought and shoot all you wont get any more..thats the general problem with ranged weapons and why they drop off so hard in BG2 , since its the ammunition that has to be enchanted to hit certain enemys and not the weapon.
you can sell all gems as you see fit ,they are just a leftover from the PnP Version of the game where gold had an actual weight and it was better to carry a neckless for 3000 gold than to actually carry 3000 coins :), only exception are the gems you get on the nashkeel mine at the very south they are for a quest
Also, Colquetle's Family amulet can be returned for some XP.
Two angel skin rings are needed for two sidequests in Baldur's Gate itself. One of them you can find during the quest. Hang on to one extra.
Another minor sidequest needs a sphene gem.
no on the outside map , south of the mine entrance is a sculpter you can eather kill or assist , if you kill him you have to bring the emeralds back to nashkel
The Colquetle's family amulet[baldursgate.wikia.com];
Joia's flamedance ring[baldursgate.wikia.com];
a sphene gem[baldursgate.wikia.com], you can get it from the basilisk in the pertaining quest;
Petrine's angel skin ring[baldursgate.wikia.com], obtainable in the pertaining quest as well;
and there's Fergus in the Flaming Fist building who asks for an angel skin ring (only if your reaction is not too low).
For completion, here's Joseph's greenstone ring[baldursgate.wikia.com] Sids mentioned.
