If you want my two cents: the devs do not seem to care (although we even opened a support ticket.) Thus, I would refund and get your friends to play Divinity: Original Sin 2 instead. It is a fantastic game, especially in multiplayer. Also, Larian, the studio that made it, develops Baldur's Gate 3.
It kinda irks me to recommend this, as the BG games are so amazing in multiplayer. But this "Definitive" Edition is just a disservice to them, as for lots and lots of people the multiplayer is just not working. In the year 2020, I might add...
Thanks
I havent played a DnD game before so was hoping to start from point 1 and work my way through :(
You'd be doing the right thing to get into the games with a friend btw. DnD systems are not *that* intuitive, especially in these games. The first Baldur's Gate can be really hard for noobs. Having someone who knows what they are doing can help out a lot.
I've played through BG1 and BG2 many many times with a group and have not had a whole lot of issues.
I agree with the DoS2 rec though, that game is awesome. I wouldn't give up on BG though it to is awesome.
Installed Hamachi, created a network... it gave me an IP address at the top... opened and hosted MP game. Gave my friend the IP address from Hamachi and then used used Connect Direct and used the IP address I gave him and it worked.
RESOLVED!!!
