Now days I just use EEkeeper which is easy to find for download and set my stats based on good rolls that I know are possible for the race and class combo unless I am aiming for a multi or dual class that is imppossible to roll for well. Like if you are an elven archer...just give your self 100 points, heck even in game you can roll that easy and it isn't like the stats even matter since you are not dual classing.
If you want to do something like a fighter/cleric...just give yourself a 100 as well so you don't have to use charisma as a dump stat even though your odds of rolling a 100 are very low. Though it is not like charisma is that important to the game anyway. Just feels bad to be walking around with a 3 CHA and be the hero.
Making a dwarven fighter? just hit reroll a few times as anything rolled over a 84 will not help the character in any way.
