How do I get to the bandit camp before Kivan leaves?
I've cleared the mines and talked to officer Vai. Now I'm back in the mine exit area looking for leads, but when I go somewhere Kivan leaves. Is it too late to keep Kivan? I know he wants to kill bandits, but I can't find the bandit camp - Thanks!

Also, Kivan is my number 1 killer at the moment!

My advice is to wait until after you've cleared the mines before picking up Kivan. He quits much sooner in this version of the game than he did in the original.

On the up side, he is neither transgender, homosexual, or bonkers. He is just a little rude.

Thanks. I'm not playing SoD, so that's not an issue. Although, I did pick up Neera because I needed a Mage. She's been fine so far, but I didn't really care for her in BG2.

Unfortunately, I've already picked up Kivan...Guess I gotta reload or export my character...

After you complete the mine quest read all the letters the half orc was carrying. One of them names a character in Beregost. "Chat" with this character, and after he is dead read his letter, and you will know the location of the bandit camp.

You can dismiss Kivan from the party. If you do it soon enough he will stay where you dismiss him. Locate the bandit camp, then pick up Kivan, and immediately fast travel to the camp.

Oh, I thought Kivan left your party forever if you kicked him out....Thought I read that somewhere, but I'll try it...
Cheers!

I've never tried it myself but in theory you should be able to use Keeper to adjust Kivan's "timer" if you are close to running out.

Hi, I am almost sure if you dismiss Kivan you will not be able to get him again anymore. You must reach the Bandit Camp as soon as possible or you will lost him forever, and, c'mon, Kivan is the best archer ever seen in Faêrun. To reach the Bandit Camp go to Friendly Arm Inn, then head east and go to the map. Peldvale will be available, go there and head north. The Bandit Camp must appear on the map.

I think you'll find that Coran is the best archer you can pick up; unless they nerfed him, he has 19 DEX, enough strength to wield a longbow and has three pips in bow which IIRC shouldn't be possible for his class/build
If memory serves correctly, Coran has got DEX 20.

Where is Coran? Roughly...
