Are cursed items ever useful?
I have a cursed helmet of alignment-reversal that I'd like to put on Dorn, so he can fit in with my party of lovely, kind, nice people.

Apart from that horrid screech that you get when cursed, there would be no long-term downfall to using this method in order to garner a little cheery company from said cheerless individual?

And will his story line still play out? I mean, would he attempt forgiveness in place of revenge?

That would be nice.

If I could mod I'd make one that changes the quest comments of the playable NPC's. Things would still have to play out the same way, but as we see via Fallout 4, everything can be twisted to fit the same outcome.

What happens if you put the helmit on a true neutral character?

I don't have any so I can't try it!

as for the Helm , evil characters like Dorn run away by 18+ reputation, wearing the helmet you can keep any evil guy in your party above that just be careful then removing it. its far less useful in a evil party since there is no downside at keeping your reputation around 15ish~ aside some bothered comments of your evil guys (who don't act on them as long as you stay under 18) but having it very low hits your store prices.

other "Useful" cursed items are the Claw of Kazgoroth , giving a Multitude of Saving throws ,1 AC , but reducing Constitution by 2 and Saving throws against Poison. but almost any NPC with a Constitution of 10-15 can wear it without suffering any downside from the Constitution hit.

The Cursed belt of Strength from Rasaads quest. (19 Strength but int down to 6) aside Bards and Mages nobody has a problem with them. even a sorcerer could use it since he don't need int for Spells.

the 2 Cursed berserk weapons are Rubbish even if they have strong +3 enchants

and the bracers and rings are just traps for noobs who would just slap the magic stuff in a empty slot before going to town.

Wow, thanks!

They make you immune to dire charm so it's probably not the worst way of dealing with sirens.

both make you lose control over your character and resulting in 9/10 cases in certain death of your other characters through said character.

far easier to deal with Sirens is using a Elf... with 90% immunity to sleep and charm

or grabbing viconia with 50% inherent magic resistance ... let her chug a 50% resist potion and laugh at them sirens wasting spells ... works also greatly with enemy mages.

Once you initiate combat, sure. The obvious solution: Don't send in your entire party if only your tank is protected from petrification/berserk/etc
