Dorn's quest in BGEE
Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out if I'm 100% done with Dorn's quest in BGEE, which would mean the journal is broken, or whether there is more dialogue I need to pursue first.

I've beaten Simmeon and the journal reflects as much. However, it's not greyed out and doesn't say 'finished'. Since beating Simmeon, Dorn has initiated dialogue a couple of times and revealed a little more about his origin. The journal now states that he has started to share his story.

My question is, if I keep him around, does he eventually tell me enough to cause the quest to complete (in the journal), or is it simply bugged?

Thanks!

After beating Simmeon your basicly done , all he adds then is some flavor Text.
you can safly remove him and pick him up later at this point , opening up the slot for some other npc.
I think once you kill Simmeon, his quest is entirely finished. But if you keep him in your party (and he is a total badass in combat), you'll get some more backstory as you play. 3 or 4 more coversations worth.

Annoyingly, some quests don't resolve in the Journal, I think it's just a bug - there aren't any ill effects from it though as far as I can tell. The original game has issues resolving quests because of the weird way it handled them but again, it wasn't causing any issues aside from not being able to tick them off as complete.
since the latest patches both BG and BG2 have massive journal bugs..wont finish, no text , finished quests clogging up the page etc
Technically he's still questing, and you'll meet him again in BG2, so maybe that's why it doesn't white out.

But it doesn't matter, because Dorn is quite happy to wander around with you while he's looking for revenge, pretty much killing everything in one blow in his hurry to get there.
Yah, figured. It's annoying, but obviously not a big deal.
