You've never liked the engine, you've never liked the story and you've never liked the game mechanism ever since the first one was released in 1998, but you continued to play BG1, BG2, BG1EE .... I agree you need your time back.

I liked BG2EE enough. At least SoA. Back in the day I beat BG1 anyway despite being disappointed, it was a talking point with friends... getting it 60fps on a modern machine (would've done this in 1999 when I played had I known how to and if my system could've handled it) with the Enhanced Edition definitely made it more playable, but I probably could have done that with the original modded to run on the BG2 engine. And considering I don't play this on widescreen (doing that with older games just feels off to me), I don't know what BGEE really brings to the table.
One thing I found great is that they incorporated a lot of the fanmade fixes. For a modded game, this means you have to install a lot less stuff, which cuts down the chance of something going wrong.

A shame they created a whole new and arguably worse slew of bugs in the process. They still haven't fixed those, whatever promises may be made.

I meant the 1.3, not this new mess. That version seemed fairly bugfree to me.

ha!

this guy is not called goodnapkin...

what did you expect?
Wow. A new level of touchiness.

10:30 minutes of monotonous ranting with audio added to a single picture.

No way a computer game can be the reason. And 18 years too late even.

I skipped out of it below the two minutes mark. It is unbearable.

Cash better spent on some game instead.

Dunno how long Beamdog is around --- let's see, founded 2010 --- yet BGEE is still very much playable (with unchanged content), minus the multiplayer bugs or other issues since 2.0 that don't affect me, or else I would not have managed to complete it since the release of 2.0 and 2.1.

I'm towards the end of a BGEE run, only having Durlag's Tower left and I've only run into a couple of problems. I had numerous problems with all of the EE version's new NPC quests. None of them advanced to the final stages and one had a missing NPC that was required to advance the plot. The game also crashes every few hours. That said, I appreciate that it is still being patched and that most of the improvements work fine. I liked the EE versions enough that I bought them all directly from Beamdog, through Steam, and from Steam for a friend.

but because you didn't showed any... footage from your playthrouh your black pits review looks... unimpressive.

instead you was ranting and ranting, until whatever the hell happened in the end... you ran away and shut yourself in the bathroom?

I've been playing the saga for about half of my lifetime (I'm 30) and I have to say, although I absolutely love the series, you bring up some *very* good points in your review and if I'm being honest, I can't really refute them at all. They never really hindered my enjoyment of the game too much as I just love the scope and complexity of Baldur's Gate, but some of your points are objectively correct (Durlag's being a micro nightmare, especially in the original engine with the even worse pathfinding and particularly the old party collision that was thankfully upgraded in Baldur's Gate 2 and BGEE for example).

I don't see why everyone's calling you a troll, as your arguments were well reasoned; if you can't debate OP on a meritorous level then just don't say anything at all. Calling him a troll would be just as bad as someone calling you blind fanboys, and that wouldn't be very intellectually honest, now would it?

EDIT: Why the hell is the acronoym for Baldur's Gate 2 censored? I have to literally spell out the whole word.

Reading the whole thread in a bit more detail I realize only a few of you attempted to shut down OP on the basis of labeling him an evil troll. He's not a troll, he's a napkin; evil or not sometimes hard truths are written upon the napkin of destiny.

In closing, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E66LVoH13ds this is pretty rad.

I'd like to make 2:35 to 2:56 my ring tone. March on, Lawful Evil Blackguards of the world. To conquest, victory and weightlifting for glory.
