Resurrecting Dead Characters

I'm playing on normal difficulty with a Sorceror. Several NPCs die and I cannot bring them back to life. I've been to a temple, but the priest does not offer to bring them back to life and I cannot purchase a Raise Dead scroll. Pleas help, ta.

"Raise Dead" for 800 is a service offered by the Temple of Wisdom at Friendly Arm Inn or the temple east of Beregost. It is not a scroll, and yes, raising dead costs money.

In case you want to cheat, you may need to look up how to activate the console and what command to enter to resurrect your killed companions.

Just remember that "chunked" NPCs can't be raised.

What's the difference between chunked and non-chunked?

Ever notice how sometimes when you get a crit and a baddie simply "explodes" from the massive damage. That is "chunking" and when it happens to an NPC (I believe the actual threshold is met at -10 HP, but I personally play with chunking "mostly" disabled because I find it annoying and stupid.) they can't ever be raised. ... If I'm remembering correctly their portrait disappears from your party in this event.

"Chunked" happens when you lose an NPC from the party completely due to a high damage and/or disintegrate, with their portrait at the panel gone.

NPC Dead = Portrait Grayed out = Ressurect at Temple
NPC Dead = Portrait Gone = NPC gone , reload old game or life without said npc forever.

Clerics at lvl 9 (225 000 xp which is Siege of Dragonspear addon or BG2) get the ressurrect dead spell.
