Unending Combat Music
The music keeps playing until I drag the team to a different area. This is a new problem for me.

Same here. After installing 1.3, combat music continues until I leave the area.

Try quick-saving after combat is finshed to stop the music
Attention Developers ...

Please fix this "New" error, greatly spoils gameplay,
drowns out dialog of all further encounters and ambient sound on current map.

This definitely not an "improvement". Quick saving doesn't work.

I don't have this problem at all...

I have started doing something I never thought I'd do to Baldur's Gate. I have turned the music off. How can a team of developers make a mistake like this? This is not an improved BG1; it is just the opposite.

Fix the damn combat music!!!!

Yes this has happened to me too. The only way to fix it is to save the reload very annoying.

Saving, quitting, and reloading is a very time consuming method of turning off the combat music.

If any of you developers are paying any attention, quit patting yourselves on the back. Go back and fix your "fix".

I tried to play the EE edition when it was 1st released but could not get past the 1st level without bugs. Decided to wait till it was patched a few times. Not including this bug, how is the game now? I do not want to put time into it just to find out it is still bug ridden.

You will have to go into your personal folder to speed up movement of characters. Otherwise they move maddeningly slowly. There is also an oppurtunity to enhance the game's pathways power, in your same folder. It doesn't seem to help very much.

For God's sake, will you developers do something about the unending combat music????

It's enough to drive me to distraction. Having to save and quit, then reload the game after EVERY damned fight is ridiculous!!!

FIX YOUR MESS!!!!

First off, if you're shouting at Beamdog (the new developers) then take a deep breath. This particular bug also affects the original 1998 game, it's not a new problem. Go find and berate old Bioware employees, if you're really as mad as all that.

Second, there's a simple workaround (but not fix, unfortunately) for this bug. After a fight ends, don't go into the inventory or map screens for a bit. Just start collecting loot and re-ordering the party as usual. Once the music winds down, then you can start bringing up other screens/transferring items/etc. Hopefully that works for you.

Not wanting to rain on your parade, but I owned the original Baldur's Gate. It never had this problem. It didn't have the problem on windows 95 (my OS at the time). It didn't have it on windows xp, the last OS the game could play on in its original format. It didn't even have it on THIS modified version until the NEW, IMPROVED version was released.

Something that was changed while supposedly improving the game is what has led to the current mess. However, thanks for the suggested workaround. I will try it out immediately.

It seems to help, your workaround. Thanks again.

I now experienced this problem as well, strangely only in Durlags Tower...
