Ajantis dismissed in the area where Dorn Il-Khan joined the party is gone forever ?
Dorn Il-Khan joined in that "ambush" and then I was forced to dismiss Ajantis to make room to Dorn to enter, too bad I miss my old friend Ajantis and I wanted to dismiss Dorn and hire Ajantis again, but, he is gone, I was thinking taht he should be in the fisherman village again but he is not in there. What I need to do to make Ajantis to return to me ?

Use the console to travel to OH1000 - maybe he's still there. Failing that, reload an earlier save.

Ambush areas are temporary, everything and everyone you leave there are gone forever. Even if you get the same ambush with the same map layout, it's a different area every time.

With EE companions and in baldurs gate 2 you have an option to tell them to go to a certain area when dismissed so they aren't lost forever in the middle of nowhere. This does not apply to original characters in baldurs gate. Not that I recall any exceptions at least. You leave them at the spot where you dismiss them.

So, without cheats, I'm afraid Ajantis is gone forever. Since Dorn is EE, you should've accepted him and dismissed immediately, I think he goes back to the friendly arm inn, so you could later leave Ajantis or someone somewhere safe and play with Dorn when you feel like it.

I messed up everything, I was thinking that If I refuse Dorn I should lose him forever and I was thinking that Ajantis should return to that same place that I meet him first time... This makes me so sad...

While in dialogue, the game doesn't "check" if you have enough space for new party members or not. When they join and you have too much, the game will simply force you to choose who to kick before continuing. So, if you accepted Dorn, then immediately kicked him, it would be the same as accepting him, having him in the part for a few days or something and then kicking him. Unlike normal companions, he should teleport back to friendly arm inn.

This is why you don't find companions in random temporary ambush areas, except for Dorn, but you can just send him away and it will be fine. So cudoz to beamdog for that, they though it through.

The closest thing to this being a problem is Yeslick. You need to kick him outside of the mines where you find him, cuz you won't be able to enter that area again after flooding it... Although, he's one of the few companions that you can find later after saving him

Im not sure if it is enterily true that you cant get him back. I once had a bassilisk encounter and lost a party member in an ambush. (turned to stone and no scroll or spell) I had to leave the member behind thinking it was lost forever. But when traveling around i did get the encounter again. It didnt had bassilisk in the encounter anymore, but it had my turned to stone party member still there. I could also get that party member back this way. I think even in ambush area's you can get people back. If you travel the same roads and encounter triggers again.
