Quest Log is not very clear.
Is it just me or is the Quest Log not very clear as far as what I need to do to advance or finish the quests? I'm still pretty early in the game and I've got a couple of quests that I don't even know how to complete.

For Example, "Half-ogres Near Beregost" says "Bjornin, a paladin currently healing from his wounds in Beregost's Jovial Juggler Inn, has asked me to uproot a band of half-ogres. According to his report, they have been fortifying themselves in the mountains south-southwest of town."

I've cleared out the all the areas to the south-west of the town and nothing was triggered or anything.

The other one is "Bassilus the Murderer" and it says, " Poor, young Footy is as tragically mad as everyone else in this dreadful place. He has been watching the foul Bassilus, trying to spot his own family amongst the animated corpses, laughing at their antics as he does so... Guilt and innocence are so malleable in this affair. All I know is that I cannot bear to let this depravity continue any longer."

I went to that stone circle and killed the guy with all the skeletons after talking to the boy. Nothing changed in the quest log to indicate that I triggered anything.

Is this how the entire game is going to be? Are these quests bugged AF or am I expecting too much out of an enhanced old AF game?

I'll never be able to make it very far in this game if I'm getting tripped up on every single side quest. Are there generally some tips on how to navigate around these quests?

For the ogres, you need to go two maps south and one west of Beregost, then go back to Bjornin.

If you talk to some of the people in Beregost, they might mention Bassilus. But you need to take the holy symbol he drops to Kelddath at the temple east of Beregost. He will also tell you about Bassilus if you speak to him first.

Yes, in general you don't get magically get quest rewards from the quest giver until you go back to talk to them again (Bjorn the paladin isn't going to fedex you the quest rewards)

The best way to handle each side quest is to simply go around the map clearing each and every area, exploring it in full, including caves and different entrances. Then going back to talk to the quests givers in each hub. Also when you're in a new area, always go to the borders and try to exit it, at each of the four sides, to reveal the adjacent areas, in case you don't have them accessible yet.

If come across items with names, keep them around and don't sell them, even if they look like trash... they could be part of some quest that you haven't found yet.

As for the directions and where each quest giver send you, some are clear and some aren't that clear, and the fact that I think the EE messes with the icons locations in the map a bit for some areas doesn't help and can be confusing and misleading.

Those half-ogres you mentioned, for example, are in the "Lake" area where you also find a lot of Gnolls fighting a certain very famous NPC... the half-ogres are in the upper-right corner of that map and they are 4, IIRC... but they might roam around once you load in the area so you might have to look for them around.

As for Bassilus, he's in the same area as certain special chicken that you can't miss when you're there, because there are several instances of people mentioning it in the same area :)
