Yes, it does now appear to heal the wielder by the inflicted magic damage.
I am trying to decide between Foebane +5 and Flail of Ages +5 for the primary weapon of my Berserker Mage. If one can simply equip another weapon, cast improved haste, then switch to the Flail of Ages +5 and retain the benefits from said improved haste, then methinks Flail of Ages +5 to be the better overall choice.
I’d test this myself, but I haven’t progressed to that point in the game yet (starting out in BG1). Could someone please verify for me in-game the interaction between improved haste and Flail of Ages +5?
After removing the flail, casting improved hate, and reequipping the flail I get the exact same number of attack rolls (3 in the 1st round, 2 in the 2nd, etc).
Clearly having the flail equipped cancels improved haste.
Personally I would just stick with the FotA +4 since the benefit of going from +4 to +5 is minimal.
