Choosing companions
I already solo-ed as a F/M/T (except took a few companions temporary for their quests) Baldurs Gate 1 till chapter 7.
My worst problem in this game is:
I never seem to be able to choose the companions without struggle, too many options!!!
Many will say, make a few playthroughs, well i'm really not the kind of player, who'd repeat the same stuff over and over again.
That's the main reason i almost solo'ed the first game.
Any ideas, how i can "ease" that?

I'm sure this will be an unpopular answer, but I just custom-made my entire team and skip all the companions. Admittedly, you lose many interesting interactions (such as romances and fights), plus it makes completing the companion quests a little tricky. However, I like being able to roll my own stats and not deal with the drama.

I hear ye,i'm thinking just to solo the whole trilogy(1 & 2),after having an 9/10/12 char, all other comps become a burden.
Is there a mod which allows to take'm all alltogether?

I don't think you can take all companions together even with mods. Tinkering with companions is one of the most enjoyables aspects of this game. But regarding choosing your companions, it boils down in which alignment you are and how you'll roleplay.

When i do an evil playthrough, i usually take Edwin, Viconia, Baeloth and Kagain. And then i choose the last slot depending on my character, but those 4 are kinda "staple" since they are pretty good, hell, i take them even when i'm doing a good playthrough.

That's my preferred way as well 😌

Take: Xan, Branwen, Coran, Neera and Kivan. You can use Imoen (or Safana) until you get Coran.

If you're playing through SoD, then take: Safana, Minsc, Dynaheir, Khalid and Jaheira. You want them equipped and levelled for SoD.
