Don't forget that you get a preposterous 5000 gp for taking out Bassilus and, if you aren't playing a Mage, you could always sell the Ring of Wizardry hidden on the FAI map (there's another one in BG).
When I made the post I thought to myself " someone will post a different spot with no supporting info that will probably suck in the first few replies because 2020" and here you are.

Great idea bro. Send a level 1 party to one of the most dangerous outdoor zones due to the baslisks that are a threat to higher level parties and then it's off to Durlags tower, the self described most difficult zone south of BG. After that, overlook the fact that the original post contains bigger picture things like naturally difficult to get mage scrolls, Ankheg plate mats and 500g a kill. Suggest the Bassilus quest in a third zone for gold and overlook the PLing concept altogether and what do you have? A clown giving bad advice on the forums.
You do know about Korax the ghoul, right? If you don't you should look him up. Even without Korax, basilisks are only dangerous to those who don't know about Potions of Mirrored Eyes and the the first level mage spell "Protection from Petrification." To everyone else they're walking bags of XP.
The lower levels of Durlag's tower are dangerous. Except for the two doom guards (you'll need a potion/spell of invisibility to get past them), the upper floors are fairly safe. There's the succubus, but you don't have to fight her. The rest of the enemies are ghasts (about as dangerous as ankegs) and basilisks.
Ankegs are okay, but only 975 XP per kill and it takes a while to get to 32000 XP (the maximum amount of XP that new characters scale to). While the Ankeg plate does sell for 500 gp, it's heavy so you'll have to make a lot of trips to Beregost.
My method is a lot faster than yours. The problem is you have too much hubris to consider that other people's advice is equally valid. It's a character flaw you should work on.
wow, what a nice role model you are, you are aware that wendigo is pretty known around here and is an excellent player, who are you to call him a clown? a freakin nobody, coming here giving half-ass unneeded advice.
XP/Gold farm isn't even needed in this game, you are just making this guide to bloat your ego, you cant say otherwise because that's how it is, nobody needed this, its already out there somewhere, you're not anything special so take a hike.
The time it takes you to do this entire farm I could've been half-way through the game and already higher level then you, why is this farm even needed? You're getting nothing but gold and useless XP from this, there isn't even anything in this game worth gold farming for, outside of recharging wands, you are aware that there is a XP cap yeh? Farming is basicly useless in this game.
If you want the game to be more difficult I suggest getting SCS and remodelling the game with some more mods, no need for an XP Farm at all and there's plenty of gold everywhere else, you're just farming for the sake of farming, nothing else, super boring.
"LooK aT mE i'M sElMinuS i mAkE gUiDeS fOr a 20 yEaR oLd aLreAdY rEseArcHeD gAmE"
And anyone that disagrees with you is apparently a clown and useless, way to set the tone big boy, what he suggested isn't anymore dangerous then what you suggested, learn the freakin game before trying to lecture others.
Clown.
