Dorn's quest issue
I have spoken to Taris about Kryll, but the Gibberling Mountains are not visible on the map
is there something I have missed?

I think you have to find the area by just moving to it from adjacent area.

Thank you, I was able to reach it from Nashkel Mines, but now that I'm here I can't interact with Kryll.

Well, you probs must wait for the issue to become relevant in Dorn's opinion. It will take some time before that blackguard can't get Kryll out of his mind, and an action is needed.

Also save the game and try just attack Kryll and see if you get the quest item and trigger the quest to continue.
