How to deal with Flaming Fist in final chapter
I just got to the final chapter, and I'm playing a cavalier. How can I get through the city without killing any guards? I don't want to be an oathbreaker.

As Gustuv mentioned, use the sewers. I did have a run where I tried to put map markers to note where each exit leads, but the markers get corrupted after you put down about 6 of them on the same map. They generally follow the city grid (the exit north of the exit you just took will be north of where you came out), but it can get a bit confusing. If you want to mark them for a next run, mark the closest ones to:
  • the palace
  • the Iron Throne building
  • the Seven Suns building (it's a safer route to the guard headquarters than the one that's closest to the guard headquarters)
  • the Harbormaster's building
You'll also want to know the entrances to the brothel under the Blushing Mermaid.
Those should be the entrances that take you to all the places you need to go post Candlekeep

Go through the sewer is the intended way...though as long as you don't kill them you are ok. So if you can charm them or hold person them or haste run past them there is no rep loss.

You just run away for example.

If you want to save the duke...you can also do that after going to the palace. Then you won't be wanted any more and can move about freely.

As for the sewers...really you just need to keep going up and down and learn what exits you need. Once you do it once you will probably remember it. I don't even think about it. Even with a more "less good" party I will take the sewers. It is faster.
