Can't level up no more
I decided to dual class from a Kenshi into a mage. I reached level 8 as a Kenshi and progressed too level 9 in the black pit expansion. I then imported my level 9 Kenshi into a new campaign and went to dual class into a mage.

Thing is I can't seem to level up. the EXP bar won't increase at all and I am stuck at a level 1 mage. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I need 2500 xp :/ Can anyone help me?

BGEE is capped at 161,000 XP, which is level 8 for fighters.

Alright so I have to start dual classing in BG2?
Either that or in Siege of Dragonspear, which is capped at 500,000 XP.

Oh I thought the cap is 150,000 still same thing.

250,000 allows level 9 fighter level 10 mage 250,000

which is the cap of Siege of dragonspear.

if you were going to dual in BG1 you'd go with something less, like a level 7 thief 40.000 level 8 mage 90,000

Fighters you shouldn't be doing but you could do a level 7 fighter 64,000 level 8 mage 90,000 if the cap really is 161,000

I have another weird problem though with the Two-handed Sword, Cursed Berserking +3 that you get from one of the quests.

For some reason my character will stop moving or only take a few steps when I order him to move around. My character is not overburdened and this only happens with this weapon.

The sword sends your character into a berserk phase, meaning you can lose control. There are problems with the sword that may not be up to date with other berserk like abilities. I had issues with it too, so I stopped using it.

The XP cap is 161k in bg1 unless you also have SoD installed in which case the XP cap for all of bg1 is 500k.
If that were true, it would be a bug.

The Black Pits gets an increased XP cap, but not the base game.
