Tidbit about Abdel Adrian
He isn't canon in the game. I have always, always heard different from basically everyone so it seems not many people have noticed. But the story of Abdel Adrian in the official lore is not the same as Gorion's ward. It's more of an alternate reality, other universe type of situation. The end result is essentially the same, but the events leading up to it are different.

The book didn't even happen, as far as I'm concerned. It mutilated a lot of the storyline and characters.

Seconded.

For what it's worth, Abdel does have in game cannon. He is part of every pre generated party in every part, albeit with different stats/builds.

Wizard or Sorceror is the only class that makes sense in this version. Gorion would have been awing the ward since he was a small child with magic, and with Gorion actually knowing about his being a bhaalspawn his childhood would be spent getting him 'ready' to defend himself.

Not really. Candlekeep is a place where transients of all ilk would be quite common. A place full of knowledge regarding the location of lost cities, artefacts and creatures. If you have a question from the magical to the mundane which is difficult to answer, Candlekeep is your place to visit.

Imagine how many adventuring parties, agents of the various factions (hell, Harpers of all skillsets visit Gorion on the regular), and representatives of the various temples, guilds or associations would routinely be there.

Hell, in the game there is an entire party of adventurers with whom the Bhaalspawn trains.

I'd almost contradict you and say would the Ward be more interested by that which was constantly around them, Gorion and his magic, or that which they saw in passing, say the Druids and Rangers.

Gorion didn't so much work to get the Ward ready, as worked to shelter the ward. He chose Candlekeep because it was a well-defended location, with those who entered being 'vetted'. Gorion only fled with the Ward when it became clear that their presence had become known to those who hunted the Bhaalspawn and that their safety would quickly become untenable.
It depends how much you interpret some classes, the player character can be all possible classes i think, for rangers or druids i imagine the player left the keep at some points and experience a bit, i dont think that player starts at level 1 also, he and his party level up too fast.
